POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
It's been 4 weeks since the British National Championships, where I brought home a silver medal!🥈
Recovery is taking longer than I anticipated, but that's ok!

I keep finding myself looking at these amazing photos and feeling the joy and excitement of that day all over again, what an experience!

Thanks to @salisburypicture.co for these incredible shots

Image description: video is a slide show of photos of Molly, a white, cis, fem presenting woman with curly brown hair. Her hair is tied up in a pony tail, she's wearing a bright pink sports vest and black cycling length shorts. Photos are of Molly on the wall and also in her black manual wheelchair looking at the wall.

This has been possible because of the support I receive through @easportingchamps @everyoneactive @westway_climbing

If you had asked me a year ago whether I’d ever think of competing at this level, I would have laughed and said “absolutely not!”

I’ve always climbed for the joy and the sense of community, but I had no idea when I started just how powerful the support within the community was, or the positive impact it would have on my confidence and that support, particularly from the @uk.paraclimbing.collective, is what made me feel confident enough to give this a go.
So yesterday I competed in the @teambmc @gb_climbing
British Paraclimbing Nationals and came second!🥈I can't quite believe it either...

I am beyond proud of myself and my performance, and for someone who says they hate overhang (and actively avoids it🙈) I can't believe I managed to climb on it and come 1st in both my qualification routes 💪

Honestly though, the day was long and tough. The Finals got delayed by almost 2 hours, which meant that isolation was over 4 hours 🥲 and with my body's alarm bells going off before iso, I wasn't sure if I'd be able to do more than a couple of moves on my finals route, but I managed quite a bit more!🎉 On a 15-35 degree overhang and with only a few moves separation between 1st and 2nd!

I learnt so much about myself and dare I say it, I'm actually looking forward to working on my overhang technique 🤣

I couldn't have got through the day without the support of my fellow competitors, the coaches and volunteers wishing me luck and cheering me on, the sportsmanship in the paraclimbing community is unparalleled 💕

Also a big thanks to @easportingchamps and @westway_climbing for supporting my training

Final thoughts
1st video clip: Quali's R1 - Awesome route and I was so gassed to get through this crux that I saw a lot of people struggle on, but I was so pumped after!

2nd/3rd clips: Quali's R2 - the steepest overhang I'd ever done and I knew going in it would be tough but made it into the blue, which I was so happy with

4th/5th clips: Finals - Fun looking route, and despite feeling dreadful, I am super proud of how I route read this and retained that info.

*climbing clips are in 1.5x speed because otherwise the reel would be too long*

I think a lot of us can be guilty of putting pressure on ourselves to be good at a sport. @chronically_candid_ and I spoke about this a lot, that actually, we do sport because we enjoy it! And it’s important to always remember that.

Wow... Well what can I say...
For 13 years before I became disabled, my life revolved around dance. When my health took a dramatic turn, I felt like I'd lost a huge part of who I was and I thought I would never be able to dance again.
Oh how wrong I was! 🦽🩰

And it's all thanks to the hard work of @katestanforth @therachaelhunt and the collaboration of @katestanforthdance and @royalballetschool

This experience was incredibly healing for me and it's going to take a lot to experience that level of joy again 🥹

Also big thank you to @shonalouise_photography @_shonalouise_ for capturing these beautiful photos 💕 by @chronically_candid_

Haven't been climbing much this last month for various reasons...
But I had the best session at @westway_climbing this week because I completed my first lead climb! 🧗‍♀️
(I had been learning using a top rope at the same time)

Thank you to @easportingchamps for supporting me this coming year, I'm excited to see how much more I'm going to be able to develop as a climber 🎉

Also, a huge thank you to @uk.paraclimbing.collective as without their socials and community support I would not be where I am now 💜

It’s time for what appears to be my annual post 🤣
Life has been brutal and beautiful in so many ways these past few months.
The good being I’ve started learning who I am again, I helped my best friend birth her beautiful baby, I moved into my own home and starting to see results from the therapy I’ve been having.
Some of the hard is that I’m struggling living on my own, there is a lot I didn’t realise I can’t do for myself as well as some access barriers and stuff that’s gone wrong.
I’m trying to hold onto the positive during the tough times and hope that it will work out one day💜 Molly, a white female with shoulder length brown curly hair. She is wearing a white cropped t shirt and black leggings. Sitting in front of a large circular viewing window in an aquarium. Molly is looking up and to her right.
Behind her in the aquarium tank are large rock formations covered in colourful coral. Lots of different size, shaped and coloured fish swimming around and A large white and black spotted eel coming across the top of the tank. by @chronically_candid_

I’ve found my happy place 💕
A soppy post from me.
For months I wondered if I would ever find joy in movement again after chronic illness took over.
Then, one l day I came across the @uk.paraclimbing.collective on instagram.
Two months passed and I finally managed to push through my social anxiety to attend a social and it’s one of the best things I ever did.
I was welcomed with open arms and taught how I can take care of my health whilst climbing🥰 I’ve made amazing friends and it’s made the most positive impact on my wellbeing. I couldn’t be without my climbing family now 🩵

Accessibile doesn’t automatically mean difficult, expensive or impossible.

I’ve spent the last few days at an activity centre in Norfolk with a youth group I’m part of, many of whom also have physical disabilities.

Although, there were some big issues with the sites accessibility, it did have some great, well thought through, accessible features, which cost very little to do and it made all the difference to our group.

The staff thanked us for our insight on how they can improve and they said they will start processes to action them.

As much as it gets tiring giving feedback and asking for equity, I do always appreciate it when I’m met with amenability and a drive to improve. FINALLY!
After not posting on my feed for almost a year I have finally got around to it. 🙈
I wanted to say how much of an amazing time I had at @naidex_show
Although it has wiped me out, it fed my soul🥰
It was so so lovely meeting new people, seeing old friends and chatting to people about para-climbing.
A huge thanks to @sociabilityapp for hosting the best social☺️

Para-climbing had changed my life, I was so isolated, lonely and low. But the @uk.paraclimbing.collective has turned that on its head completely. I’m so grateful to have found such a lovely community of people who bring so much joy to my life💕

Thank you better mobility for providing me with a hire wheelchair for the past few weeks😄 taken in The Nation's Experience Capital by @chronically_candid_
