A little reintroduction… From fashion to antique fairs to building CIËN, this is a lift of the curtain on the work, and the heart that makes it all worth it. I'm so grateful to call this "work." I'm not sure I have the courage to get in front of the camera just yet, so this felt like the closest I could come to sharing a little more of who I am. by @cien.interiors

She's our primary suite jewel — a piece that almost didn't come to pass as a perfectly "functional" bookcase sat in her place before hand. However we knew we could make this space exceptional. We sourced this beautifully hand-carved Calacatta Viola marble mantel, with travertine pencil tile by @zia_tile and all of a sudden it transformed the space. She's just so delicious that you'll be seeing a lot of her.

We wanted to keep the functionality but with already having a working library within the home another exposed book collection wasn't the direction we wanted to go. However a bookcase in the primary suite for our beautiful client, who is an avid reader was a must.

Challenge accepted with a little creativity and a bloom hinge we created this design concept. With a little push, the right side panel pops open to reveal a concealed library of all her current reads.

Creating the most beautiful space to curl up to, to. enjoy an evening read, we created this fabulous down-filled sofa to nestle into. As lthe fireplace is purely for aesthetics (if you've lived in England, or New York you've encountered this numbers of times) I wanted this space to feel luxurious, storied and incredibly comfortable- this room is not quite complete a few more pieces to arrive in our next install but but we all adore her!

Somethings are just too perfect not to post.
Adore these pincushion flowers and why not make the most of their beauty than on our kitchen counter.
They're delicate yet sturdy, lasting up to two weeks. And just like tulips as they age they still offer endless beauty. Their true name Scabia is slightly less desirable so here we are... calling them something equally delightful as they look, Our three bundles of pincushion blooms from the farmers market. by @cien.interiors

Designing this children’s bathroom for my daughter was one of my favorite full-circle moments yet — and also, admittedly, a long time coming.

We bought this home while I was five months pregnant, and this space — tucked right behind what would become Winnie’s nursery — sat waiting while life rightfully took priority elsewhere. Six weeks ago, we finally completed it.

We reworked a late 18th century oak hutch to anchor the space — bringing something old-world into a very young life. Custom Arabescato marble counters, Crema marble tile cut to size with Nero Marquina cabochon accents, and a Rohl faucet finish it off.

Proof that even a children's bathroom deserves the same level of design and craftsmanship as the rest of a home — and that some things really are worth the wait. taken in Los Angeles, California by @cien.interiors

This project has been so incredibly nourishing. A symbiosis of all the power players aligning for a sensational project: exquisite and trusting clients, clear design direction, beautiful bones. The details we have infused back into this space are plentiful. As I scroll back through my library, filled to the brim with progress photos, I realize that even those have beauty within them. It's also a reminder of ALL the teams who bring a project to life, like our poor but delightful GC, answering my every-morning phone call with a laugh and a Philly accent: "What now?!"

There is true magic in this home. It's been a joy. by @cien.interiors

Our most recent project:
The Windermere, It's been a phenomenal journey within this past year to get to this point and we just completed phase one of installing this multi dimensional project.

A wild 365 days, a tremendous undertaking, from ideation, to full scale remodel and renovation, to fabrication to installation.

A true delight to say the least but has taken true grit and muscle. We can't wait to share with you the magic we have been blessed to create within this truly exceptional family home.

We love what we do, and we feel so tremendously honored when our clients love what we do to.

All pieces imaged are custom pieces designed and fabricated locally in our Los Angeles workrooms, designed by @cien.interiors, fabricated by exceptional artisans whom without, these designs would only be but a dream.

The tiniest spaces sometimes deserve the most attention.
And also have to make you laugh. We inherited the most horrendous powder bath when we bought our home. Truly!
She still needs some love so will share the final when it's all said and done but who doesn't love a progress update!

And truly how to make the best of a space but not shift all the plumbing (god knows I love to rearrange).
Low ceilings- make it a feature
Awkward plumbing- work with it

A custom soapstone sink, and handmade polished nickel taps all the way from (say it with the accent) London. She's now a little jewel. by @cien.interiors

When the concept spread lives up to its expectations. Fleshing out the story of a space is the most important part design, how do the textures, materials, patterns play with on another (and even more important when designing remotely.

The layering and build out for this space has been so intentional, with every step, every decision has been methodical in how it all comes together.

We couldn't be more in love, and I will never-ever go past an opportunity to place a striped welt on a cushion (or anything for that matter). Our custom throw pillows are just perfection if I can say so myself.

On the kitchen counter!
Where else is a better spot or has better light in one's home. I always find my work creeps from the studio and lands on the kitchen counters. Our island is an uninterrupted 9.5' length. It's delicious, and completely irresistible for working through concepts.

I once had a tiny jewlery line when I lived in New York, people seemed to rather enjoy it. I would make hundreds of pairs of earrings in my railroad apartment in Williamsburg.
I was asked once at a trade show "where's your studio?" I responded rather cheekily "at my kitchen table" "where's that? Is it a shared space?"
"No, just me".
🤍
No longer the soul occupant, my counters are rarely available for creating, but when they are I take full advantage. by @cien.interiors

Fave parings- I've reached the point where I have to question my own choices... all though they are dried little autumnal gourds- they do give the essence of a pear and I adore them!!!!
Please check me if I move to far into florals though- I have yet to find a faux floral I can tolerate but challenge accepted if there are a few I should look into. by @cien.interiors
