Designing this children’s bathroom for my daughter was one of my favorite full-circle moments yet — and also, admittedly, a long time coming.

We bought this home while I was five months pregnant, and this space — tucked right behind what would become Winnie’s nursery — sat waiting while life rightfully took priority elsewhere. Six weeks ago, we finally completed it.

We reworked a late 18th century oak hutch to anchor the space — bringing something old-world into a very young life. Custom Arabescato marble counters, Crema marble tile cut to size with Nero Marquina cabochon accents, and a Rohl faucet finish it off.

Proof that even a children's bathroom deserves the same level of design and craftsmanship as the rest of a home — and that some things really are worth the wait.

One of the most delightful, meditative and enjoyable pieces that I have had the privilege of creating for my own home.
In my postpartum recovery I indulged in hand stitching, truly my joy in life. These are the fruits of that meditative indulgence. And I couldn’t be more delighted with the outcome.

We all love to look behind the curtain, here’s a little peek inside our studio. Some piece we like to make in house, these antique tapestry cushions were absolutely a prime candidate.
