I don’t think I’ll ever forget the night I won my first Emmy - not just because of the award itself, but because of what it represents.

This Emmy reminded me that the work we do is so much bigger than ourselves. It’s about giving voice to the unheard. For the Conversation (which we won the emmy for) it’s about amplifying the experiences of our neighbors of color. It’s about keeping conversations around equity and inclusion alive - especially now, when DEI departments may be disappearing, but DEI stories still need to be told.

I stood shoulder to shoulder with people in this industry who believed in me when others didn’t - the ones who supported me, encouraged me, and connected me with people and places that allowed me to grow and live out this dream. That’s what made this night so powerful.

It was an honor just to be nominated - but to take home this trophy, surrounded by a team I respect and a station that empowers us to tackle tough topics with heart and courage? That’s something I’ll carry with me forever.

We tell stories to make a difference, not to win awards. Still, being recognized in this way is a powerful affirmation that the work we pour ourselves into is making an impact. taken in Cincinnati, Ohio by @cierrajohnsontv

Today marks 15 years as a journalist and FOUR years at NBC4 🦚

It’s kind of wild to think that the station I walked into as an intern is officially the longest I’ve called one newsroom home.

These four years have brought so many special moments, both professionally and personally. Grateful for it all and excited to see what’s next! by @cierrajohnsontv

Delay or denial is rarely a setback. You’re still headed in the right direction. It just takes a little fine tuning to get there. Real growth happens in the waiting room, iykyk🙌🏾

Dr. Olivia Nathan knows this all too well. She was rejected from pharmacy school THREE times. Through it all, she discovered self-love, resiliency and true dependence on God.

She was inspired by her Dad to become a pharmacist. She saw the goal, trusted HIS plan, didn’t give up and look at her now….. 🙌🏾❤️ Dr. O!
