Happy World Restart a Heart Day! The American Heart Association is helping make Cincinnati’s parks better prepared for cardiac emergencies through a grant provided by Paycor Community Impact Fund to the @cincyparksfoundation.

The investment will support efforts to assess opportunities for automated external defibrillator, or AED, placement and expand CPR certification and training capacity within Cincinnati Parks. The partnership will explore additional opportunities to bring lifesaving education and resources directly to the community through events held in local parks.

The funding will also help us develop Cardiac Emergency Response Plans, or CERPs, for six of our nature centers: Bettman Nature Center, Avon Woods Nature Center, Burnet Woods, Caldwell Nature Center, California Woods Nature Preserve and LaBoiteaux Woods Nature Center.

Thank you to everyone who came to Night in the Trees at MadTree Brewing to pick up their Releaf Trees last night! The next tree pick up times are this Saturday, October 17 from 8am-1:30pm and Monday, October 19 from 12-3:30pm at MadTree Brewing.

Our Natural Resource Specialist, James Johnson, visited Inwood Park to show us how to tell the difference between tree of heaven and staghorn sumac! 🌳

Tree of heaven is an invasive species that attracts the invasive spotted lanternfly, while staghorn sumac is native to our area and an important part of our forest ecosystem.

Thank you to the Greater Cincinnati Orchid Society for their generous donation to Warder Nursery, helping us purchase beautiful new orchids to display at Krohn Conservatory!

Two of the ten orchids are currently in bloom, while the others will showcase a stunning variety of colors throughout the year as they bloom according to their unique genera and natural bloom cycles.
