It was our junior year of high school, I’d always have ice cold hands and innocently I would use Vanna’s arms to keep them warm. I swear l didn’t realize at the time that I was flirting! 🤭 I called him my Vanno Heater and would subject him to my morning ramblings everyday in homeroom (poor guy 🤣). Naturally, we just became best friends over time and the rest is history.

San Diego has been an absolute dream. Moving out here was out of our comfort zone (and one I never thought was attainable) but it has been one of the best spontaneous decisions we’ve made. I fell in love with this place and embraced reimagining our life’s journey. It’s a bittersweet moment for us but we’re headed back on the road to the east coast. I’ll miss my nature walks seeing so many tropical blooms, sea wildlife and the most picturesque sunsets. SD will always have a special place in my heart. Until we meet again! 🌞

My dad came to the opening of our Khmer identity exhibition and he immediately started sharing stories of how he used the krama as a kid. It was probably one of the few times my dad has willingly brought up his childhood in happy memories. It’s an honor to be able to hear these stories from my dad and to be able to connect with so many folks on what their Khmer identity means to them. I hope this installation can continue to spark more meaningful conversations and provide a space where our Khmer community can feel seen and represented. 🇰🇭 #happyaapimonth taken in Lynn Museum & Arts Center by @cindy.sous
