Between the two of us, we’ve had so many biopsies. He’s had too many MOHS procedures to count. I’ve never had MOHS…my kind of cancer required “going under” for a 6 hour surgery to remove it all then the Chief of Plastic surgery reconstructed my face. 😍 My second skin cancer procedure on my arm was much simpler. Thank God!

It’s never “JUST skin cancer”. It affects your whole being. Cancer is cancer & so often preventable.

Pay attention to your time in the sun.
Wear your SPF!
Make sure it’s chemical free!

A skin check is SUPER simple & non-invasive!!
Don’t forget to schedule yours!!

We are grateful we can say we’re both cancer free today! That’s a big deal—-especially for him!😍

Looks like we made it…. 32 YEARS!!!
6-4-94— Best Rock Lobster Dance Party ever! Iykyk

This year, we are barely making it. Hanging on by a thread the past few weeks/months.

By the grace of God, we were able to go out last night & celebrate & smile.

Our love is determined.
Our fight for each other is strong.
Our workouts together keep us grounded.
Our nutritious meals keep our bodies GOING!
Our community who prays with us & for us is vital.

Our Sunday mornings in worship together resets the whole week & reminds us of WHO we are & WHOSE we are!!

It is ONLY God’s love that keeps our love alive & God’s power & Spirit in us that keeps us together each day.

To GOD be all the GLORY!

10 DAYS for this girl!!!
.
Of sleeping in her own bed.
Of sleeping through the night.
Of seeming a bit calmer & a bit more like herself.
We are not out of the woods quite yet but we have HOPE.
.
We are PRAISING GOD & celebrating tonight!!
.
& we are thanking God for Audrey—-who started planting the seed days before then went shopping with Rach for a new blanket for her “new” room! Rach picked out a soft, comfy pink blankey. So much shopping fun!! They came home, made the bed & thankfully it passed the smell test! HAHAHA! Audrey jumped in bed with Rach & cuddled for a bit before she said prayers & turned out the lights & closed the door.
.
Meanwhile Scottie & I were downstairs praying & praying that Rach would not be following Audrey down the stairs!! She didn’t!! We were not quite able to believe it was really happening so we asked Audrey to stay for a while, just in case. It’s like we were back to that infant phase where you just needed someone to take care of your kid when they started crying again.
.
I’ve said this before: Everyday is Autism Awareness Day in our house—& there’s a reason someone chose April as the month to shout out awareness to the world. We are aware daily & this was definitely the hardest April for us–ever! We will never forget those who showed up for us— & for RACH –to just be with us on the hard days & love us in all of the messiness. & we’re so grateful to all who came over to help us get her to sleep & to those who have been praying & believing with us!! This has shown us that God sure has created a special community for us here in Wisconsin.
.
If you find yourself in a dark season like we’ve been for the past 10 weeks, just know there IS LIGHT at the end of the tunnel. There is HOPE. God promises to always be with you in the storm. You will thrive again. God’s power is MIGHTY in You!

This!!
Do it scared! You weren’t created to live afraid.

I heard the title of a new book coming out soon & I keep repeating the TRUTH of this title over & over daily. “You Can’t be Brave until you’re Scared” by Jess Connolly.

God is with us in our fears. We can be brave because the Lord walks with us, giving us courage. I can’t wait to read this book!!
