maybe less so mid life crisis and more so quarter? it’s so unfortunate that new grads are graduating straight into the uncertainty of unemployment—that we were never even prepared for! it’s so sucky realizing there is actually no guaranteed pay off to the past 4? 16? year of hard work friends with 6 figure corporate jobs don’t understand, friends who graduated 2 years ago don’t understand, my parents don’t understand (they try very hard), it feels so isolating navigating this alone, but you’re not alone! this is SADLY :,) the reality of so many new grads. Unemployment has taught me so much about myself and helped me find value and clarity in my own identity beyond my resume my industry my salary. You’re not alone and you too are more than the job market tells you what you are #twenties #newgrad #college #selfreflection by @cindyqiann
that cannoli was definitely living beyond our means (it was $8 🤡) (it was very good though) (from Kelly Cannoli in Seattle) - - - #twenties #friendships #longdistancerelationships #postgradlife #relationships #collegerelationships #collegelove #collegelife #collegestudent #relationshipadvice #couples by @cindyqiann
ITS THE 🥐 Alida’s Bakery in Everett, WA ok so this spot went viral maybe a year ago and collin and I have been eyeing it EVER SINCE and the number of times we’ve talked ab it and passed it (otw to Canada, otw back from Canada, otw to a hike, otw back from a hike, otw to blueberry picking, otw back from blueberry picking……) but NEVER committed has probably exceeded 10…so today we took a 20 min detour JUST TO GO!!! $6 croissant of that size?? I was very happy with that but the manakish?? omg my first manakish ever 2026 was the year I discovered that I love muhammara via mazra’s falafel mezza sampler and via my friend’s bday lunch (she got muhammara with pita) so when I saw that on the menu I IMMEDIATELY KNEW I wanted to try it and it was only $4??? crazy and then the lahmajoun was really fun collin ALWAYS orders the meat option of anything and this was really moreish AND surprisingly massive (like pizza size) quick thoughts: the flatbread is SO GOOD because it’s served literally straight out of the…idk what they make it in but you order it, wait like 10 min, and it comes out PIPING HOT, I really liked the sourness of the ground beef on the lahmajoun, I think combo muhammara and lahmajoun in one bite is the strat and when I went back up to the counter to order a blackberry marshmallow croissant to go I told the guy taking my order that I ate it that way and he gave me a fist bump and a nod letsgoo vibes inside were so nice, during the 15 min we were there so many people came and went buying bags upon bags of pitas and naans and the back was just making dough and making dough and making more dough jk idk what they were actually doing but there was a lot of laughing and chatter it was really nice esp on a gloomy gray seattle day will be back I wish I lived closer :,) and how I wish I had this next to my office! would be my lunch every day! and I’d actually be giga big back I always like making food recap vids because it encourages me to look into the food I just ate, didn’t know anything about Kurdish food before this and didn’t know the sourness of the lahmajoun was intentional! super cool #seattle #seattlefood #kurdishfood #bake by @cindyqiann

to be fair the boys did all the cooking and all I did was eat and wash dishes 🧼🤰🏻 when I tasted the marinade the day before I was kinda worried because it was actually super sour :/ but it turned out so good….none of us have ever tasted birria before….SO LOWKEY we can’t really judge flavor accuracy BUT IT WAS BUSS is all I know 🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮 and we ate 3 lbs of it ….. in one sitting 😀 they also made horchata on the side 🍚🥛and I added a little cardamom 🫛 ugh it was PERFECTION this used to be our climbing crew and it’s single handedly convinced me that all climbers love cooking #birria #mexicanfood #potluck #homemadedinner #chuckroast by @cindyqiann

what a dream it is to be here they could never!! make me hate the pnw I posted the last slide in fall of 2021 after moving to seattle for my sophomore year after covid and I remember it was back when captioning an instagram post was one of the hardest things ever but I remember! that that caption came to me so easily! I typed it in one go and posted it right after because for some reason I was so sure of the fact that I loved this place just a week into being here I remember feeling a little worried that I’d regret captioning it that, and then thinking “literally whatever it’s not a big deal if that turns out to be the case” I guess it doesn’t matter because here I am 5 years later and I think I still love it here!!! by @cindyqiann
not my typical kind of post but went to the movies for the first time in half a decade yesterday from 7 pm - 10:30 pm on an AMC half off Tuesday and watched A24’s You Can See Everything 🍿🎥🧿🧿 it was so good…my first thought after it was that I REALLY want to share this, people need to watch this I came into this film w a lot of anger and feeling repulsed and general distaste like obviously the trailer was creepy (to me, Collin said it wasn’t), and what Elizabeth Holmes did was insane no doubt about that (ok my caption/thoughts are too long, making this a multi caption post and putting the rest in the next few slides) #movies #moviereview #youcanseeeverything #tech #siliconvalley I expected the documentary to solidify (or refute, but more so the former) a lot of the presumptions and limited knowledge I had of Theranos and its technology and research and I felt p equipped to think about it as someone in tech and w my bf in medicine but I left feeling so so weird, very confused I don’t even know how to describe it but basically, it did not validate my emotions like I thought it would it felt less like an informational, nonfictional documentary (it is don’t get me wrong) and more like a piece of art and EXTREMELY well done reporting and production it felt like fiction? but every time you remember it isn’t you feel really really gross lowkey held my breath the entire second half of the film, and, by the end, half of the theater had their elbows on their knees and face in their hands. I felt like my heart was in my throat we also watched it with a very good audience, laughs and gasps and claps and cursing, everyone was on the same page I won’t spoil it since it only came out last Friday (I also wonder why they chose to release it now beyond the fact that maybe it was only just finished) but genuinely a MUST SEE (for everyone, not just Silicon Valley tech heads), it changed my perspective on a lot of things esp on how I consume information I left thinking less so of the entire controversy and science and tech, and more so journalism, reporting, and media. I don’t even know what to say, this film was so so well done 10/10 and I know it was a good fi by @cindyqiann
I believe therefore I can! every day I think about who I wanna be 🧠👈 and then I just go do it 🩰💻📚💅 that isn’t to say that many things were challenging to do/decide/figure out, like networking was actually JUST YESTERDAY and by the end of 3 hrs it felt like my soul had left my body….but the fact of the matter is that I DID IT! will I ever do it again? idk it’ll take more than some yummy empanadas to convince me….BUT at least Cindy today is already braver than who she was yesterday 🦁 #twenties #motivation #wellness #journaling #reflection by @cindyqiann
I’ve hesitated to reflect on and post these product thoughts because so many people I know are in tech and product!!! and I felt imposter syndrome for the longest time!! I’m constantly thinking about everything all the time, so I knew that I’d want to share these at one point, I just didn’t know when I’d feel good enough about them 😗 so yesterday I sat down and just brain dumped for a few hours and it is what it is! this is a snapshot of my product career at this very moment 👩🏻‍💻💭 — I cannot deny that work and my career takes up over 50% of my life…obviously!!! I’m in my mid twenties which is prime time for me to LOCK IN career wise, it was a weird path getting to product (and I don’t even know if it’s my final destination, but I do love getting to do what I do) I really liked graphic design in hs, then business, then was pushed into software engineering in college, which I turned into frontend development as cope to still do design while being more technical. All the while I also really enjoyed marketing, content, and design (still) then I discovered product, which I really convinced myself to be the perfect combo of all of this, especially if I chose the right product to work on ✨🔮🧐💡 but after graduating I quickly realized that product is a very hard field to get into as a new grad/early in career because so much of what makes a good product person comes from experience!! and lots if it so now, after a year in a hard earned product role that has pushed me to grow SO MUCH, here are some things I’ve learned that I really wish I knew before BUT ALSO probably wouldn’t have meant anything to me back in school without the context and environment I learned them in 😀🧠 I hope you enjoy :3 #twenties #careeradvice #productmanagement #tech #newgrad 1️⃣ like some copy changes, some branding, some user flows, not everything need to be announced, some things are better secretly released if designed correctly and intuitively, they should be seamlessly adopted 2️⃣ I used to be very proud of my intuition and empathy as a product person I was, after all, originally drawn to this field because it so valued intentionality and care in understanding the why b by @cindyqiann
