✨And just like that, this coat begins its journey with the beautiful human it was created for. Sometimes a creation finds their home before I am quite ready to let it go, but when the right fit aligns, there is no denying the magic. And, I can’t keep all of the coats.

As I am introducing myself as Naomi and the Bellevue issued artist sign clearly says Ann, this couple had questions. As I shared my story it deeply resonated. She shared that she too has been considering changing her name to honor her own becoming. And guess what name she has been considering? NAOMI✨ ?!?! Her very supportive husband fully encouraged this as a sign that it was her time to step into fully embodying Naomi with a couture coat created by Naomi. I mean 😭😭😭 Here’s to following our hearts and being true to the most authentic versions of ourselves we are here to be.

✨In motion.. following the next clear step, then the next..

Every step holds sew much meaning, sew much potential for growth. With every crossroad in life, with every pivot, one beautiful cycle I trust is that darkness always returns to light. 💫 No matter the question, love is always the answer. ♥️ Creating welt pockets and lining up pinstripes, aligns me with joy.

Sometimes it’s the little things. Often, it’s the little things.. 🙏🏽✨ what brings you joy?

This kiddo has always walked at her own pace, danced to her own drum, and moved from her own inner knowing. She knows her limits, and clearly and kindly communicates her boundaries. Forever my teacher, my muse, my fellow creatrix✨ Being this kiddos mom always brings me joy!

✨I have definitely entered my well tailored, wide legged trousers phase of life. Hello fifty one-derful! When I am not costuming for OCF or Burning Man, this is where my heart resides ♥️ and a well tailored vest has always been one of my favorite garments to make and wear.

This proud mama heart was elated to create a low waisted, young hip version for my kiddo. I asked for her inspiration/her take on a vest- and this is what we co-created 🔥 I couldn’t love her more!!!

🔥What!?! Just getting glimpses of the most epic photo shoot I have probably ever done. There is a creative portal that I am able to tap into, that all of the Beings preparing for Oregon County Faire help to usher in- Hive mind ✨🐝✨ And for the first time EVER, thanks to this incredible kiddo of mine, we were more ready than I have ever been able to be alone. Eva and I, with the help of our bad ass friends and a very talented photographer, made it happen!!!!

✨🍑✨Feeling sew very grateful for all of the sweet heart connections that make OCF the magical event that it is! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

I just want to give a shout out to this incredible kiddo- like many, she’s grown up at Faire. OCF has been such a formidable part of the young woman she is today. She has always been my muse and continues to inspire me infinitely. She’s grown up in this craft and her skill set shows it. We’re a dynamic duo- in life, and in the studio. Sew deeply grateful to be in this dance together ♥️♥️

Deepest gratitude to Yvonne Rose, the beautiful elder that entrusted our craft and crew, and welcomed us into the spot that she has been lovingly tending since the very beginning of OCF 🍑 HUGE GRATITUDE to our entire crew- Matia, K-love, Kade, Payten, Samara, Miles, Saione, Yvonne, Eva and myself.. we showed up sew fully- to learn, to grow, to laugh, to love, to dance, to play, to celebrate and pray.. we did it!!!! ✨🍑Hey hey! Oregon Country Faire Family- I am getting really excited to come play, dance and reconnect with all of you. And of course 😉 dress you! It’s wild to realize that I’ve been participating in this sweet event for nearly 20 years!!! My daughter has grown up here, and sew have I.

I give sew much credit to OCF for inspiring and activating this skill set that is sew obviously one of the gifts I am here to share. After moving to Portland for college I quickly learned of this magical event and felt very drawn to go see what it was all about. Let’s just say- it changed me forever and I immediately wanted to contribute in a meaningful way. There is a bit more to this story, but Circle Couture was born✨

After sew many years of creating and costuming I have amassed quite the collection. There have also been many beautiful humans I’ve met along the way that have felt compelled to gift me their most precious vintage pieces. Many I have repurposed and many are incredibly beautiful exactly as they are. Add many trips to the playa and my own personal collection- I have an abundance of clothing and costumes that I am ready to share and release.

Sew after packing ALL of what it takes for Faire, including the kitchen sink, I’m packing a ridiculous amount of items to hopefully find the perfect humans to go adventure with.

There will be hats, coats, vests, furs, masks, booty shorts, body suits, garter pantaloons, wings, wigs, boots, kids stuff too, vintage Circle Couture pieces, and a whole trunk of belly dance costumes and jewelry from my days as a belly dancer in my twenties that inspired my first brief costuming business as “Elna and Naomi” (more on that later) which was short lived with the birth of my kiddo, my most incredible creative endeavor.

✨Hello beautiful humans! It’s been a minute since I’ve shown up here. I’ve never been much of a computer person anyway, sew it’s always been a push for someone who loves clip boards, pen and paper, and heart to heart connection.

I’ve been in a deep cocoon. It’s been hard and beautiful and everything in between. Lots has been shifting, lots has been revealed. Whew! This journey of being human is.. all encompassing. We are in a time of major transformation- and I am here for it.

As I emerge I am doing sew with a name that feels more aligned with who I am today.

Naomi

This feels huge, and yet it is something I have done before.

Some of you that have known me for a really long time might remember me as Candi. Yes, Candi. I love you mom and dad, but this name never felt right to me. Even as a young child I told my mom I wanted to change my name. In my early twenties it became very clear that Candi did not resonate with the adult I was becoming. Even then, I wanted to become Naomi but out of respect to my parents it felt easier to have everyone start calling me by my middle name- Ann. I legally changed it, and with love and gratitude, little Candi was released and grew into Ann.

Why Naomi? One of my grandma’s dearest friends was named Naomi. And I loved her. As I enter my crone years, it is time to mark this passage officially. Through this cocooning process Naomi has fully emerged.

Candi will always be deeply woven into all that I am.
Ann will always be part of my story.

Candi was the Maiden
Ann was the Mother
Naomi is the Crone

Here’s to emerging✨
Sew grateful to be on this journey with you!
