You know that feeling when you meet someone for the first time and somehow, you just know you’re going to connect? ❤️
That’s exactly how I felt when I pulled up and saw Lindy smiling at me. All the anxiety I usually feel when meeting someone new instantly melted away.

And then came the hug… and it genuinely felt like coming home. 🥹❤️

Some people just have a way of making you feel comfortable, seen, and completely at ease from the very first moment. I’m so grateful for that kind of connection — the kind that feels effortless, familiar, and meant to be.

So thankful our paths crossed, Lindy @circusduchess ❤️✨

If you are working on handstands or hand balancing, try this fun shape challenge with hoops. After holding your balance, you can either come back down to standing or cartwheel over by first moving and aligning the placement of your hand.

This one is for @flowwith.ro ! She encouraged and me to try this after I witnessed her holding this shape in a wicked long hand balance. Goals! This was also inspired by @rai_flows and her pretty mandala cartwheels tutorial. I love a hoop community that inspires, encourages
and cheers our trials and wins!

Give it a try and let me know what you think?

This is the beautiful doorway to my villa room at Mimosa Retreat, Lefkafa, Greece. This space was of perfect size for some handbalance skill builders.

I am thoroughly enjoying my time here. The views, architecture, activities, excursions, food and fellowship have been incredible. Greece, I shall be back!

I enjoyed 5 beautiful days in Athens, Greece with my awesome friend @demicheleamy (and my son's MIL).
We did all the things; blown away visiting sites including the oldest Olympic arenas, Parthenon, Temple of Zeus, changing of the guard at the Parliament building, Greece's oldest library and University, botanical gardens, fabulous dining restaurants and more!

This year I celebrated my birthday quietly but excitedly packing my bags and props for AYCO Fest; a national event bringing together circus youth and top circus professionals!

My 'diabolo and silks flow' workshop was held in this beautifully equipped circus building @independentlakecamp . It had all the things to support disciplines both on the ground and in the air, plus seats for an audience for the end of week showcase! I enjoyed warming up in the space just before the students arrived!

I also had the pleasure to meet many other circus professionals and learn some new skills as well! It was much fun and time went too fast!

Hawaiian yard clean up. I envisioned creating a real a grass skirt, full with a train, and hoped the tree on the left would drop some fronds so I could try.

When they actually did fall, I had no idea how huge, heavy, solid and dirty they really were! I would have needed some power tools to take it apart appropriately. The creative costumer in me just couldn't stop imagining walking on a beach with a full grass ballgown skirt with train. Maybe another day when I spend more time on these islands!

Hand balance Question. when holding a hand balance, sometimes my toes will start cramping when i'm already inverted in a good steady balance. It requires me to flex my feet for relief, it throws off my concentration and balance so I must come down. Does that happen to anyone else? What should I do to try and prevent that from happening? I don't understand the mechanism.

Movement in random spaces! I was on my way out to the beach when the doorway caught my attention. With its sturdy heavy framing, it called me to a quick challenge. It was too wide for clearance of my head to complete a pull up. However, it was great for a straddle inversion!

I will be rolling into my 62nd year next week. Luckily I have not yet suffered from any major physical injuries or ailments. I’m grateful as it has allowed me to continue exploring many different types of physical activities over the decades. I hadn’t imagined myself to be as physically capable as I am today and I have fun with all kinds of movement. I know recovery from any injury at this point takes longer. I remain mindful of my risks and limitations. Accidents do happen. Remaining strong and physically able will hopefully allow me better weather future mishaps.

💫 Do not attempt these challenges without proper assessment of the structure you are using and confidence in your skills. A fall from an inversion is dangerous and a safety mat is recommended to mitigate accidents.

Full Circle. Back in 2019 I learned the diabolo, and won 3 of them at raffle, attending the American Youth Circus Organization Fest. This three day convention brings youth Circus performers from across the region to train with top Circus professionals and explore a wide variety of Circus disciplines. Not an annual convention, I also attended AYCO Fest 2023, in Seattle.

This month, I am proud to return as a circus educator and workshop leader bringing two unique workshops (diabolo and hoop). As coach, I will chaperone one of our own @circuscenter_fortcollins students attending and performing at AYCO Fest 2026 as well! 🤩 Very excited to go share this prop full circle.

After teaching this evening I came home to another beautiful summer sunset. Had to rush out before the colors faded to dark. Some spontaneous "breaks and paddles" fit surprisingly well with this music.
