Shoal Sessions are our way of opening the space to locally based and visiting professional artists to share specialist skills, unusual disciplines and fresh ideas with our community — because, frankly, variety really is the spice of circus life. ✨

And first into the Shoal? WOBBLE CLUB.

Join us tonight, Wednesday 14 October, and again on Wednesday 28 October, for two hours devoted to the wonderfully addictive art of tightwire walking.

MotionHouse and the The Lonely Clown Club we can't thank you enough for taking the time to come back to Cirk Hes for our Gen A and NextGen Youth Circus members last weekend. Keep it here for some more lovely sneaky peeks of all that soon.

After the success of the Youth CIrcus and Adult Wire Walking workshops too, The Lonely Clown Club will return to Cirk Hes 14 and 28 October 7-9pm for Wednesday night 'Wobble Club'. Open to everyone age 10+ years including adults. Book via our website class calendar. The first of our Wednesday night special one off/short series sessions by locally based and visiting pro's.

We can't thank the generous Circus - Dance company that is MotionHouse for taking the time to come back to Cirk Hes today to instruct and inspire our youth circus once again. (Also for the banging tunes 🎶). We are very lucky🍀 that our Young People have another unique opportunity to learn more from these wonderful pros! Ha ha ha with the help of Christine, Nikki, and some fabulous volunteers we finally have them in front of the camera! Our Head Zookeeper Nome prefers to do things live and in person, so make the most of it folks. Spread the word for us on how and why 'Circus' works!

Our Nome is also the South Kerrier CAP Cultural Ambassador for @artswelluk

As such they are always on the look out for creative, artistic, culturally enriching actvities to add to the Artswell UK Directory for South Kerrier CAP.

Drop us a DM if you, your club, group, or your organisation offers eligible activities for the directory, and would like to be included. It's free, and is a really helpful resource for Cornwall's Social Prescribers, Linkworkers, and GP's Surgeries.

💥WHAT A SUMMER IT'S BEEN! 💥

We’ve had young people performing, training, fundraising, taking circus out into the community and generally reminding us exactly why we love doing what we do.
There has been such a lot going on both on and off site over the last few months.

Our young people have trained hard, performed publicly, taken circus out into Helston and beyond,through various events, productions and performances. They have thrown themselves wholeheartedly into another summer of making circus accessible, visible and fun.
Our Saturday Morning Circus, Monday Night Teens only, Home Ed, and Evening Aerial and Ground Based sessions for all ages continued to be busy throughout the Summer.
We're also delighted to have a member of our Gen A Youth Circus accepted onto the National Circus CAT Scheme, and it's with delight, tinged with sadness that we see another member of our NextGen Circus prepare to begin their first year of a Degree at National Centre For Circus Arts.

A huge thank you goes our from all of us at Cirk Hes, to everyone who came to watch a show, joined a workshop, shared a post, donated, volunteered, transported equipment, bought a ticket, cheered from the audience or helped us keep the whole circus moving.

Every bit of support matters, and we are hugely grateful for it.

☀️ OUR 24 HOUR CIRKATHON 🌕

One of the highlights of the Summer was our youth-led 24 Hour Cirk-A-Thon, held on International Youth Day.

Our young circus members set themselves the fairly ridiculous challenge of spending 24 hours immersed in circus activity to raise money towards keeping youth circus training affordable and accessible.

The day included a free community circus workshop, a performance, a parade through Helston, hours and hours of circus training, a sleepover at Cirk Hes and eventually a very well-earned circus brunch.

More importantly, it was created and driven by the young people themselves.

We're delighted to announce that all donations are in, and our Youth Circus first ever fundraiser their 24 hour #Cirkathon has raised £4000!!!! 4 times what they thought they would be able to raise. Thanks to the huge generosity, of family and friends, local supporters, fans, and local businesses both for donations, pit stops, and refreshments.

We are truly blown away.🤩😍🙏🙏
