Anxiety about going in the circle is normal. I have it too.

You never have to go in the circle if you don't want to.

But sometimes, performance anxiety is what's holding us back from sharing our dance when we really want to.

This mindset shift is for those moments, and it's what helped me.

Felt this in my heart to share right after class got finished so i sat down to film right then and there, sweaty and all, because its important to me to speak when im called to speak. I dont want to keep waiting for a more curated moment when my hair is done right and the lighting is perfect for me to make a video 🤷‍♀️ maybe only 4 people will watch this, but those are probably the 4 people that really needed it. So here you go! I hope the message helps you in your dance journey 🫶

Ever wanted to take dance lessons or classes but couldn't afford it?

Maybe we can trade! Ive accepted trades since the beginning but never made a public announcement about it. I saw someone else make a post like this and was inspired to do my own 😊 lets bring the barter system back.

Heres the dance styles I teach (classes or 1:1's)
Shuffle + Cutting Shapes
Gogo
DnB Step
Hoop Dance

Here are the skills im interested in learning right now:
🤓 HAM radio
🤓 Making repairs on my motorcycle (or you could do it for me)
🤓 Soap making
🤓 Boxing or Jiu Jitsu
🤓 How to make herbal tinctures
🤓 Heels dance, tutting, popping
🤓 Business development

For fitness coaching, I'm specifically looking for powerlifting and flexibility coaching.

If you make your own products or offer a different type of service/experience, send me a DM and show me 😊 maybe we can work something out!

Got a hookup on hotels, flights, concert/festival tickets? That works too!

Or if you can help organize events or DJ our shuffle meetups, that would be super valuable.

Obviously I still need to pay rent, so my capacity for trades will not always be wide open but it never hurts to start the conversation 🫶

Freedom is intoxicating.

I never post my gogo practice so heres my progress gogo-ing to bass music.

Not my usual genre. I made it my goal to work on this specifically for the rest of the year! Excited to come back and dance to the same song 3 months from now and see if I level up 💃

Dancers, post your practice! Not just your perfect "content" clips. I love to watch your long form freestyle vids 😍

Cant wait to kill yall with this choreo 😛

Had to cancel tomorrow's class sadly but dont worry, it's getting rescheduled ASAP! Keep a lookout.

In the meantime, imma keep polishing it up at speed, and add a better ending.

It was originally only supposed to be 4 8's, so I just freestyled out the last part of this but now im getting the itch to actually choreo it.

She's a quick one. My legs are DEAD dead.

But not too dead to go get my lift on. Love being consistent in the gym again at the best gym in the world @blinnergy

This was around the 800th time we ran it through bc of course we are staying late after class to keep practicing until we drop 🙃

What are textures? Easier to see it in action than for me to explain it in words!

Textures turn your moves into dancing. They make it expressive. They make it fun. They make it memorable. They make it feeeeeel good.

Here are some you can play with:
🪶soft, airy, featherlike
🌊 fluid, smooth, waterlike
🔪 sharp, choppy, staccato
⚡️light, bouncy, joyful

Listen to the music. Is your song fast or slow? Heavy or light? Use that as your starting point to select which textures you want to experiment with.

A running man is never just a running man - meaning your basics should never be basic, theres always layers to express and a story that can be told, even if its simple.

We'll be breaking down all things musicality:

-Music theory
-Timing
-Textures
-Breaking out of receptive flows
-Creating your own style
