Official Rules: We'll be searching for 10-16 total finalists and crown one Ultimate Screen Stars Grail Winner 👕🏆✅ Two Ways to Qualify: - Legiteem8 App Engagement Selections - Participating Partner Live Winners Legiteem8 App Engagement categories include: - Highest expert appraised Screen Stars Tee - Highest community appraised Screen Stars Tee - Most liked ScreenStars Shirt - Most commented Screen Stars Tee - Legiteem8 and Screen Stars Team Selection Live Partner Finalists: - It will be up to each live partner to establish the rules for their platform. - Things like highest selling SS tee on any of their lives during the contest window Or highest selling tee from a SS themed live, etc - Live partners to provide the rules to Legiteem8 and SS prior to the contest Additional Details: Any Screen Stars Tag qualifies including Euro. Limit one entry per user and shirt. In all cases, the owner of the shirt retains ownership. Curiosity is what led me to vintage. Trying to understand what was going on in this culture gave me the chance of experiencing the thrifting life and I realized how exciting it is to search and find unique pieces. Learning about the story behind a piece, the uniqueness of a graphic, and what a t-shirt may represent to someone is simply fascinating. One of my first sales, and in fact, my first international deal was thanks to a couple of Peyote tees. I kept buying and selling ever since. by @citees.us

Meet Muhammad, aka @secondhandscoops, our newest niche authenticator at Legiteem8, he's been collecting vintage Grateful Dead and Art tees for about 8 years now. How many vintage t-shirts do you own? I've been collecting for 8 years now. I used to have a very extensive personal collection, but due to being a nomadic traveler for the past three years, I keep about 20 quality vintage tees with me in my personal clothes at any time. These are true never for sale pieces, some I have never even posted. The inventory stays at a strong 200 items at any time though. What got you started? I grew up thrifting, and in high school I had a groupchat of 12 homies and anytime I went out in the wild if I saw something they would enjoy I would just ask for $1 more than what I paid. Then I started watching Paul Cantu videos back in like 2015, and that just made me love it even more. In 2016 I sketched the Secondhandscoops logo, and the rest truly is history. I will say that I didn't learn about vintage as we know it till I became in community with Houston's Hip Hop Vintage Flea Market. All of my big brothers and sisters in vintage found me here and took me under their wings. I can't thank them enough for believing in me! Tell us about your authentication process? I start everything with visual cues. Printing, Tags, Condition. Texture as well if it is something I am able to hold in person. Then I either cross reference from my own collection and archives, or I get a second opinion from the community of collectors I've curated this past 4 years as a live host seller. If ANYTHING feels off, it's a no from me. Even on the rare case that it is a one off variant, but even then I will note it as such rather than a fake. I aim to be a resource for folks and, and want to keep learning to be better. I'm a fan of this thing we call vintage, so I hold authenticity to a high priority. Meet Josh, aka @nattythreads, our newest niche authenticator at Legiteem8. Josh has been collecting vintage Bob Marley tees for about five years. He's a huge Marley fan and has been since he was a child. His father mostly played reggae at home so Bob was the soundtrack to his life while growing up. "My family’s dog is named Marley and I just got a puppy myself about three months ago. I named him Ziggy after one of Bob’s sons. I’ve always been into fashion too so it was only a matter of time until the two things collided," Josh told us. Marley tees are the only genre he collects and has over 60 t-shirts at the moment. While the majority of his collection is from the 1980s and 90s he's always on the hunt for 1970s tees. "I try to find tees from before 1981 which is when Bob died. I have around 4-5 right now which are all too tight for me to wear but they are never going up for sale. They're more like a piece of history to me. One of them is a Kaya album promo shirt which some members of the wailers have been photographed wearing while standing with Bob," Josh said. Original 70s Marley tees aside, Josh told us the Buffalo Soldier rap tee seems to be most requested by customers since it's a well-known tune and the graphics are on point. When asked about his approach to authenticating Marley tees Josh said, "Over the years that I’ve been collecting, I've naturally picked up on details to look for when determining the authenticity of Marley tees: stitching, tags, fade/condition of shirt vs fade/condition of graphic, placement, and size of graphics. fortunately, I have not seen too many fakes but there are plenty out there. I think there hasn’t been a huge effort into creating fake Marley tees for a few reasons. One is that there are so many different vintage Marley tee designs so it’s not like there are a select few that are grails such as some other artists or genres. Another reason is that at the moment Marley's tees are not as valuable as some other artists. So the fakes that I have seen have been pretty obvious to me."
