This is the last photo I have of Scott and me, sucking on lollipops at the Getty in Los Angeles last summer at the queer photography retrospective. Scott was the kindest, most talented queen there could be. A sassy sharp sweetheart. Funny enough, our friendship grew exponentially *after* I left Chicago as my home base. We’d find each other around the country, working on plays together, dreaming up screenplays, going to concerts, envisioning the California queer compound where we could create art and live in nature. Rest in sequined glorious peace, my queen. I hope you and Dito and Charles Ludlum are creating absurd wonderful gay sh!t over the rainbow. by @cityeric

My brother in law, Chris Berzac, died by suicide on Monday morning. I’ve known Chris for more than half my life. As Jessica- his wife and my sister- is one of my closest friends in the world, Chris became incredibly close to me too. I didn’t grow up with brothers but Chris (and Charles and Jeff) became my brothers. I loved Chris deeply. He was so funny. He loved Wutang Clan, the MCU, improv comedy. He loved Chicago cubs and the Detroit lions. Most importantly: He loved my sister and their children deeply. Chris battled the depression demon. He fought hard. I wish him peace, release, joy. I am heartbroken. #####
