i believe it’s channing tatum behind this account for these reasons and also bc most of us would be fighting for our lives on fake accounts if we were public figures lmao

i will be hosting and MCing westside night out for safety & liberation next tues, 8/4 @ 5 pm! heads up: i will NOT be doing standup comedy bc this is an all-ages event, which made me realize i need to write more clean jokes lol. i’d love to have you join this evening of food, art, community, and learning featuring organizations across the westside working to build a world beyond policing 💙

night out for safety and liberation is an abolitionist community gathering rooted in the belief that safety comes from strong communities, not policing. as an alternative to “national night out,” the event brings together organizations building safety through mutual aid, housing justice, immigrant defense, racial justice, and community care.

while national night out celebrates policing, we believe real safety is created by neighbors who care for each other, not by armed institutions that criminalize poverty, kidnap members of our community, suppress protest, collaborate with ICE, and uphold racial and economic inequality. we challenge the idea that people are disposable and that policing and criminalization create safer neighborhoods while highlighting alternatives to police-centered public safety and demonstrating those alternatives in practice. taken in Mar Vista by @citygorl

stop making us use AI when we’re having multiple climate-related crises everywhere as a result of unfettered capitalism and consumption!!!

not taking action based off the facts only props up this oligarchy that ensures the future will only be livable for the ultra-wealthy who’ve ensured our planet’s destruction.

alaska to coachella 🧊🌵

weekend 1 field notes:
1. it’s the group you’re with that makes coachella, not the stellar sets. despite being sent off to coachella last minute by work with no one to meet up with, kat saved me and set me up with her incredible friend, kim. through her i met the greatest group who made sure i had the best coachella i possibly could. they are SO WELCOMING AND WARM AND INCLUSIVE and facetime me so we always find each other and are having fun. mervin gives me the BEST concert view of all time up on his shoulders during justin bieber. THE VIBES HAVE NEVER BEEN THIS GOOD AT ANY FEST OR RAVE!!! yall made me feel like part of your coachella family from the very start. see y’all in the desert and outside of it.
2. i learned more how powerful my gift for bonding with strangers is & had heart-to-hearts with 4 of my uber drivers during our hour-long rides and the hotel front desk upon checking in. one driver tells me i make him feel listened to, which is what everyone deserves!!!! he is a korean man my father’s age and says us conversing in korean for an hour (mine’s still broken) makes his day.
3. hot women truly thrive at coachella. i’ve never gotten so many compliments anywhere.
4. i said for years i'd never go to coachella bc i hate festivals. i love being humbled by my stubborn opinions. by @citygorl
