I don’t care how you were raised.

If you learned toxic habits, unhealthy communication, or destructive behaviors…

UNLEARN THAT SH*T.

Your past may explain you, but it doesn’t excuse you.

At some point, healing becomes your responsibility.

Stop blaming.
Start growing.

An exercise people underestimate… until they actually try it. 👀🔥

Work through a deep range of motion while maintaining proper form, and let the weight do its job.

But here’s what I want you to understand…

It’s not always about how much weight you’re moving. It’s about how well you CONTROL that weight.

With these heel-elevated squats, we’re emphasizing the quads while challenging lower-body strength and control through a deeper range of motion.

And when you add the hip hinge, you’re getting the glutes and hamstrings involved too.

Listen, don’t rush the reps just to say you finished the set. Move with intention. Control what you can, and build from there.

Save this one for your next leg day. 💪🏽 by @cjthementor

You plan your week. Give your body a little time on the schedule, too.

Sunday Reset today: slowing down, working on hip movement, and paying attention to what feels different from one side to the other.

Take your time with these. Use the support you need, stay in a comfortable range, and breathe.

A few intentional minutes is a place to start. Keep showing up for yourself.

Save this for your next mobility session. Want a plan built around how you move? DM me “MOVE.” I work with clients online and in person. 💪🏾

Strong as hell… but can you MOVE? 👀

Let me tell you something. Being strong and moving well are two different things.

You can push some serious weight in the gym and still struggle getting down on the floor.

And you don’t have to lift weights to understand what I’m talking about.

Getting up off the ground, bending down to tie your shoes, playing with your kids, or simply moving without feeling stiff.

That’s the stuff we tend to overlook until it becomes a struggle.

Listen, I’m all for building strength. But I’m also big on having the mobility and control to actually USE that strength.

I’m not trying to become a gymnast. 😂 I just want my body to keep doing what I ask of it for as long as possible.

Because getting older is inevitable. Feeling limited before your time doesn’t have to be. 💯

Now let me ask you something…

👇🏽 What’s ONE movement you used to do without thinking twice that feels harder today?

Drop it in the comments. Your answer might inspire my next mobility video.

80 pounds down. And it all started with a conversation during a stretch.

He originally came to me for assisted stretching. We got to talking about fitness, and that conversation turned into over a year of working together.

He’s always worked hard. I’ll give him that all day. But early on, he wanted to train what he wanted, how he wanted. 😂

We had to build trust. Part of my job was explaining why we needed to work on things he usually avoided.

We also had to talk about what was happening outside our sessions especially his eating habits. As he learned more about nutrition, he started understanding how his food choices could support the work he was putting in.

Training hard was one piece. Building habits he could stay consistent with was another.

Over time, we kept building. I provided direction, explained the purpose, and supported him. He kept showing up and doing the work.

These pictures represent over a year of effort, learning, and consistency.

Bro, you earned this. I’m proud of you. 💪🏾

If you see yourself in his story and want guidance with your training, nutrition, and accountability, I offer coaching online and in person.

You ever been giving somebody advice and halfway through the conversation realized you needed to hear that shit too? 😂

Crazy how we can see things so clearly when it comes to somebody else’s life, but struggle to take our own advice.
Sometimes the reminder you’re giving someone else is the same reminder you’ve been avoiding.
Maybe it’s time to listen to yourself. by @cjthementor

You can build the body and still build the life.

Training has taught me more than strength. It’s taught me patience, discipline, accountability, and how important it is to keep showing up for yourself.

Some days are about progress.
Some days are about maintaining.
Some days you just need to get in the room.

Either way… show up.

Today’s deposit: BACK DAY. 💪🏽 by @cjthementor

Growth gets real uncomfortable when you have to admit you were the problem too.

Not everything needs an excuse.
Not everything needs an explanation.
Sometimes you were just wrong.

Own it. Learn from it. Move different.

That’s when the mistake becomes wisdom. 🧠 by @cjthementor

You ever have one day divide your life into before and after? September 30, 2018, was that day for me.

I was shot twice in my left leg. I survived, but nerve damage and foot drop changed the way I moved. People see me lifting weights now. They didn’t see the days I wondered if my leg would ever feel like mine again.

Eight years later, I still remember those days. They’re part of why it means so much when a client tells me, “CJ, I can do this again.”

And I know somebody reading this has a win they’ve been brushing off because it seems small. Walking farther. Moving with less fear. Getting back into a routine. Say it out loud you worked for that.

What’s one win you earned that nobody else saw? Drop it below so we can celebrate it with you.

Still here. Still moving. Still building. by @cjthementor

Different face. Same energy. Same outcome.

At some point, you have to stop asking, “Why do I keep meeting people like this?” and start asking, “What haven’t I learned yet?”

The pattern isn’t punishment it’s information. Pay attention. by @cjthementor

Your hips spend HOURS in the same positions every day.

So instead of forcing another stretch, give them a position they haven’t seen all day.

Move slow. Shift your weight. Explore what you actually have.

Save this one and try it later.
