Played guitar/vox for the wildhearts Head devil at Devilspit Hot Sauce and a damn fine dandy of a solo artist. Tap da link for my shop and stuff

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

It's a sad day and I'd be lying if I said my heart isn't heavy, but with everything I do, I add humour and can see the positive. Some words below about my final Devilspit pre-order...

So we’ve reached the end of the road and what journey. When I launched DEVILSPIT back in 2014 with my original sauce, I thought it would be a one off sale to celebrate the release of my solo album Mable. Here we are 12 years later, thousands of bottles consumed and a million dishes elevated to delicious fiery heights.

This will be the final Devilspit pre-order and will close at the end of October and all orders will ship from the 1st week of December, in time for sauces to land before Xmas. Along with a new end of the road label for my O.G sauce, I also have a new t shirt and hoodie. Due to the current complications of shipping sauces around the globe, I can only post Devilspit hot sauces to U.K addresses, but my new merch will ship globally.

I want to say a huge thank you to all who have supported me over the years. Yes I have a heavy heart, but it’s been an incredible journey and I for one am looking forward to riding with the devil one more time.

Please join me and help keep small independent artists alive. Without us your world will be incredibly bland, we are the fire that keeps passion and colour alive.

Started running through songs for Scott's Birthday Memorial show that's taking place on the 30th at KK'S Steel Mill

I've not played properly for a bit now and my chops are not very choppy. I knew I was going to take some time away from music over the summer, family stuff and other things have taken precedence over the music, but I'm really looking forward to playing live again.

At Scott's show I'll be playing a short set with my solo band with Wolfsbane's Jeff Hateley on bass, as Lee has been very poorly. I gotta say Lee handles himself with so much decorum, never going on about how crook he has been. The poor sod was in a coma for almost 2 weeks, we almost lost him a few times, but he's cool, he just gets on with it, no fuss or bother or over sharing, the guy is a fighter.

After my short set, Ritchie will join me with a bunch of guests and we'll just rip it up, all in honour of our brother Scott.

Please come out and join us, and celebrate Scott's memory. It's going to be one hell of a night.

So I'm dropping some demos in album form on November 2nd. A combination of the demos I recorded for my last album DEViL and my 2020 album SIEGE.

So I write and demo at the same time. I normally have an idea for a tune, fire up my little home set up and record whatever comes out of my head.

Here's the demo for "The Art Of Being Free". It's a song about finally breaking away from all the drama in your life, letting go of all the mistakes, bearing no grudges, just breaking the circle and making a promise to yourself never to go back.

Myself and Vicci picked up a couple more linocut prints from my friend and artist Matt Hooper @hupalinocuts

Matt's a top fellow and it's always a pleasure to hang his artwork in our little flat.

The beetle and the geese prints we acquired this weekend and the octopus I've had for a while.

So on November 2nd I'll be dropping my new demos album 'DEViLS' on CD. It will include the demos I recorded on my own from my latest album 'DEViL' and my lockdown album 'SIEGE'.

Siege was an angry album recorded back in 2020. This album came about as my old band The Wildhearts decided to make an album as we couldn't tour due to the pandemic and we thought it would be a good thing to do as we had plenty of time on our hands.

So I wrote and recorded a bunch of songs and so did the other guys. We booked some rehearsals, myself, Ritchie and Ginger turned up at the studio, a good start. We then waited a few hours, no Danny, Ritchie tried calling, no answer, then we got a message that Danny had slipped on a teabag getting onto a train and was rushed to A&E, no sniggering at the back. That was the end of that album and the beginning of my album 'SIEGE'.

Here is the demo I recorded for 'Shit Brick', let's just say I was raging at this time, there was so much bad shit happening. Things haven't gotten any better in the world, although my life has changed immeasurably and for the best.

Every time I walk past the tea aisle in the supermarket, I give it a small thanks for setting off a chain of events that would lead me to a much better place.

Anyone for a cup of tea?

NEW ALBUM INCOMING!!!

So I'm starting to compile my next demo album, 'DEViLS'. Demo album you say?

I've released two demo albums before, Split - 'The Building Blocks' and Slots - 'DEMOS', and with this new one, I'll be combining the demos I recorded for DEViL, my latest solo album with the demos I recorded for my lockdown album 'SIEGE'. That will be 19 tracks in total, recorded all on my own on my little home set up.

It's been good revisiting SIEGE as I've not heard it since it was released back in 2020, 'tis quite an angry uplifting album.

Anyway, this new album will be available on my store on CD from Monday November 2nd.

I posted this vid back in early spring and I'm looking forward to taking this ditty for a spin at Scott's memorial birthday show on the 30th.

I played Scott the demo of 'One Of The Boys' when I visited him for the last time in June and he really liked this song. It's about looking back on one's life, admitting your mistakes, owning them and ultimately realising you're nothing more than just one of boys, nothing that special, just a run of the mill geezer or bird.

Here's to all the boys and girls out there...

Fuck!!!! Finished refreshing our little bathroom but it was a bit more of a ballache than I thought it would be.

Did the painting no sweat, deep cleaned the tiles, grout and fixtures, no sweat, but replacing the toilet seat almost finished me off. I came close to throwing in the towel, then I remembered I do most of my planning and scheming on the old white throne, so I had to get it right.

All good now and here I am making plans for my next album, as ya do...

I'm painting my bathroom ceiling and woodwork today as it is looking tired and I'll do a deep clean tomorrow as well, just to make everything sparkle.

I fucking hate painting and I'm really messy too, but I found that the snorkel and mask set I bought from Temu is perfect for added protection, really helped with the dust when I was prepping as well.

I'm a firm believer in, if you can do the job yourself, just get on with it, even if it's a pain in the butt.
