Work hard, tell the truth, and love others. That was his legacy.

For 91 years and 11 months, he lived with humor, grit, and integrity. His rough around the edges exterior was matched by the tender heart underneath.

One of my favorite memories is when Grandpa and Grandma were watching Jake and me in Omaha while our parents traveled. I came down with a respiratory bug, and Grandpa held me in his arms all night as I coughed. I can still remember that warm, comforting embrace.

Growing up, we shared countless memories in the feed yard, on road trips, and during family vacations to Disney. Later, he taught me how to drive on back roads and regularly beat me at cards. More recently, he cherished every chance to cuddle and love on his great-grandchildren.

His laugh is one that will echo in the hearts of many. He was an old cowboy, a dear friend, and a man whose impact will live on through the people he loved.

Finally sharing some pictures from our recent trip to Charleston for Ben & Kirstin’s wedding. With it being my last week of maternity leave, we decided to make it our first family vacation. The weather may not have cooperated as we had hoped for our first several days and we absolutely felt the stress of traveling with littles, but it was the best first trip as a family of 4 💞 I enjoyed our slow mornings, walking to get coffee with Rachel on Folly Beach (and her demanding I share mine with her daily), nap time drives through Charleston, walks on the pier, looking for sea shells on the beach, and cozy movie nights. This is truly, what it’s all about. And I had an older woman remind me of this when we visited the Magnolia plantation. As Rachel darted in front of her, I quickly apologized. She replied, “Don’t you dare apologize for something so precious. You are going to have a VERY blessed life.” And she’s right!! What an angel.
