✨ We’ve been a little quiet… but creativity has been flourishing behind the scenes. 🖤

While things may have seemed quiet at Classically Black, we’ve been busy collaborating with artists, building meaningful partnerships, and creating new opportunities to celebrate and support Black artistic excellence.

And we’re finally ready to share some of what we’ve been working on!

🎨 MEET OUR ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE
In partnership with @seshcoworking, we’re proud to introduce our inaugural 2026–2027 Artist Residency cohort! Two incredible Black visual artists, one creative home, and a year dedicated to artistic exploration, collaboration, and growth.

📖 INTRODUCING MADE OF US
Our new 30-page coloring book features original artwork by Artists in Residence Kara Crowley and Wyntress X’ion.

More than a coloring book, it’s an opportunity to invest directly in Black creativity. Proceeds support our residency program, helping fund artist compensation, art materials, and creative opportunities.

✨ Available for $30.

🍷 WINE & DOODLES | NOVEMBER 13
Join us for an evening of wine, coloring, and creative connection with Kara and Wyntress!

📍 SESH Coworking, Houston
🗓 Friday, November 13 | 7–9 PM
🎟 $40 includes your Made of Us coloring book, a glass of wine, and an evening of creativity and community.

And this is only the beginning. We’ve got more exciting collaborations, experiences, and opportunities in the works, and we can’t wait to share them with you.

Thank you for continuing to believe in our mission. Because supporting Black art means investing in the artists behind it.

BLACK HISTORY MONTH REFLECTION ✨

Still feeling the magic from our sold-out A Classically Black Arts Salon: Beauty Found in the Cracks—an evening where visual art, operatic voices, and Afro-diasporic cultural reclamation met in one room.

We gathered at Honeysuckle for a night rooted in ancestry, nourishment, and reclamation—filled with conversation, connection, and the kind of beauty that only reveals itself when you look closely at what’s been weathered… and still shines.

With breathtaking performances by Brian Major and Michelle Johnson alongside pianist Elizabeth G. Hill, and powerful featured works by Lavett Ballard and Susan Ragland, we witnessed what Black artistry does best: turns history into living, breathing brilliance.

Black History Month is a reminder: our stories aren’t just remembered—they’re made, sung, painted, shared, and celebrated in real time. Thank you to everyone who showed up, leaned in, and helped make this salon unforgettable. 🖤

Drop a 🕯️ if you were there—and tell us: what moment are you still carrying with you?
