This Saturday 10/17! at @clayspace_bk! 6-9pm!
We’ll go through some useful stretches and spend time evaluating our throwing techniques against the bad attitudes of our various joints… that’s one way to put it, anyway… I love teaching body movement for specialized activities, and this is no different.

🌟Past participants have said that they can now center more clay and throw bigger pieces. And that their wrists don’t hurt any more! Anyone with some wheel experience is welcome, and we will be building skills all night long.

Meet Johnathan Huang (he/him), one of the handbuilding instructors at Clay Space!
Johnathan Huang is an illustrator, graphic designer, and ceramicist. He has been doing ceramics for 5 ½ years and teaching for 3 ½ years.

We asked him what his favorite part of the ceramics process is.
J: “My favorite part of the ceramics process is every part that is unpredictable and surprising. Teach me humility!!”

Frogs find themselves as the stars of the universe he builds, as forms to simplify the complexity of the human experience into a more digestible representation of being. Meaning uncovers itself during the process, in creating and also in life, and Johnathan’s practice honors the beauty of that magic.

What excites you about Clay Space?
J: “Because I only really teach at Clayspace, and I love teaching, knowing I’m coming to class to get others excited about clay gets me excited.”
