I am thrilled to share that ‘Stars Still Dying’ has WON Best Music Video Cinematography at the CANADIAN CINEMATOGRAPHY AWARDS hosted by @filmfreeway

This single has also been nominated by @yycmusicawards for ‘Single of the Year’ & has over 50,000 views on @youtube

I am so proud of the team that made this possible, with the help of @brockjorgy ‘s gifted eye ,the generosity of @meltrites and Bryson, and the helping hands of @jjmayo_ , @thegoodeyethriftshop , @havapoo_juno and support of @alexxkath

I have immense gratitude for being able to work through this song, which I wrote for my father after he passed away, within the embrace of a safe and caring space held by my East Coast family 💛

The video is up in my bio, I hope you peek cause it’s beautiful.

A new playlist. A shared story. Introducing the Soundtrack of Community. 🎶❤️

Created with support from @calgaryfolkfest artists and United Way, the Soundtrack of Community is a living playlist filled with songs that inspire connection, hope and a sense of belonging.

We’re kicking things off with @cleaanais, who is performing with her band @raleighsound at Folk Fest. She invites us into her world through a song that makes her feel connected, hopeful and at home.

Press play, discover her pick and explore the playlist. Because the best soundtracks don't just fill the silence. They bring us together.

1 in 4 Calgarians don't feel a sense of belonging their community. Let's change that.

As I approach my 80th year, it seemed like the right moment to undertake a book project.

Please join me on Saturday, June 27th, from 1-4PM at Masters Gallery @mastersyyc for a book launch and exhibit titled Land and Figure: Paintings by Dulcie Foo Fat

Masters Gallery will present this exhibit from June 25th - July 4th. @mastersyyc @parkerpr

I was motivated to create a book as a way of gathering six decades of paintings into a lasting record of my artwork - in a way that could be enjoyed publicly, by family, friends, and lovers of art.

Both the book and the exhibition have helped me reflect on paintings that I myself have not seen for years or even decades, and I am excited to share some of these artworks with you!

The creation of a book has been insightful for me as an artist. I have been able to view my work as a whole - to trace its evolution over time, and to discover how older paintings may stand the test of time.

I hope to see you at the exhibit, please say hello if you are there.

I have been working on the creation of a book alongside my mother to celebrate her 60 year career as a visual artist. @dulciefoofat

The book launch & gallery opening are this Saturday June 27th, from 1-4 PM, at Masters Gallery in Mission, Calgary. @mastersyyc

The artworks will be viewable at Masters Gallery from June 25 - July 4th.

A neat aspect of the book is that private artworks will now be accessible to view publicly, as most paintings are in private collections.

The exhibit will include some large oil paintings which are quite intricate and exciting to see in person.

As a musician, pivoting to work on a book involved a steep learning curve!
However, it was an opportunity to learn more about my mother’s career, the challenges of being a woman in the visual arts in the 70’s and 80’s, and to consider more about her way of seeing the world, her values, and her life.

This is a project I am proud to support as an artist myself, as I understand the meaning of labouring in a creative craft across decades. I am grateful that this book will exist as a well deserved testament to the incredible work my mother has put into her career.

I hope to see you at the exhibit, and if not, please reach out for a book anytime!
Clea

PS: A big thank you to all the individuals who helped to support the creation of the book from conception to writing to design. taken in Masters Gallery Ltd. by @cleaanais
