Thin air (8a+/v12) - first ascent (oct. 2024)

This rig is located just bellow the Aiguille du midi, nearby the lift mid-station. Spotted it at the end of summer 2023 at my first visit to the area, and climbed it a year later during a scouting mission with my homie @renegrincourt_
The following days we explored more the zone up there and found some new sick looking projects.
It was already pretty late in the season, soon after the snow came and covered the area but I became really stoked to come back and try to develop more up there !

Also big shout out to the locals for having built this massive landing 🙏🏼

Et si l’on regardait Chamonix autrement ?

« Nouveau Regard » suit les grimpeurs Arc’teryx Clément Lechaptois (@clem_lechap), Ashima Shiraishi (@ashimashiraishi), et Jim Pope (@jimpopeonarope) dans une nouvelle manière d’explorer un lieu déjà mythique : une approche plus discrète et intime du bloc alpin.

Présenté le week-end dernier dans le cadre d’Arc’teryx Presents à Paris, le film a pris forme à travers une avant-première et une exposition, pensées comme un espace de rencontre et de partage. Une invitation à faire l’expérience de l’œuvre autrement, entre image, matière et présence.

Chamonix vu autrement. Pas par le sommet, mais par le bloc : discret, intime, alpin.

« Nouveau Regard » est un film qui raconte l’histoire d’une nouvelle façon d’explorer un lieu déjà mythique. Son avant-première mondiale a lieu le 29 mai à Paris, et il reste encore des places. Exposition, projection et rencontre avec l’équipe (@clem_lechap @jimpopeonarope @ashimashiraishi @renegrincourt_), dans le cadre d’Arc’teryx Presents.

Decided (8b+/v14)

Went on a short trip to Japan a few weeks ago.. aaand already psyched to return some day.
Sick people and beautiful places made this one special and kind of a full package experience. Loved it!

Story of 2 worlds (8c/v15)

Stoked to have managed my way up on this classic the other day!
The weather hasn’t really been on our side the past few weeks, with unpredictable frequent rain showers. We still had some great days out w homies, & strategy is on point now to take advantage of every dry looking window.
Might try to pursue the next chapter of the ‘Story’ saga, as the forecast seems to keep going the same dynamic at the moment 😵‍💫
Grateful to be in a place that inspires me so much 🙏🏼

Varazze! Un può di Gioia, troppo vento e tanti capuccini!

The initial plan was to enjoy some chill days in the sunny Ligurian coast for the end of 2025.
It was actually freezing cold n windy so the conditions were perfect for the sharp holds of this infamous old school test piece which is Gioia. Managed some promising links during the week and I’d be psyched to return when another cold snap hits Europe.

It’s as if even when trying to plan a vacation, it ends up being a climbing trip => dolce vita mode posponned !
Now super excited for the upcoming weeks out there in Ticino 😈

Big nose (8c/v15) - 14/05/2025

Cleaned this rig back in 2022, and tried a bit but I couldn’t find a way that worked for me back then. In 2024 I shared a couple of sessions w @dylan_chuat. He put the work in and climbed the whole thing soon after.

Last spring I was psyched to get the 2nd. ascent.
Super stoked how this this turned out.
