‘Soufflée’ Grid lamp
55 x 35 cm
Stoneware coils, electric components and porcelain light bulb, leather

Grid collection is part of a series of functional and sculptural objects, exploring new uses linked with sensibility and gesture.
In this series, working with coils allows me to transfer a drawing process into clay volumes as I build each shape like a sketch.
The mesh structures act as an imaginary skeleton, as if the core of a fictional object had taken possession of its surface.

Le Petit Prieuré, Paris Design Week, September 2026

On the occasion of the “CORE” exhibition presented at Paris Design Week in September 2026, @clementine___long did me the honor of presenting this work created by, for, and with her artistic practice.

The sound material comes from field recordings made while Clémentine was shaping her signature clay piece in her studio. Oscillating between raw and distorted sounds, 𝘎𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘴 offers a glimpse of the soundtrack for the upcoming film dedicated to her, produced by @martaprod.tv

For 50 minutes, the live creation of this sound piece took place within the exhibition space through a performance and then through its continuous playback throughout the event, accompanying visitors as they explored Clémentine’s world.

À l’occasion de l’exposition « CORE » présentée à la Paris Design Week en septembre 2026, @clementine___long m’a fait l’honneur de présenter cette création réalisée par, pour et avec sa pratique.

La matière sonore provient d’enregistrements de terrain, lors du façonnage des roues signatures de Clémentine dans son atelier. Oscillant entre sonorités brutes et déformées, Genesis offre un aperçu de la bande-son du film à venir qui lui sera dédié, produit par @martaprod.tv

Pendant 50 minutes, la création en direct de cette pièce sonore s’est inscrite dans l’espace d’exposition par la performance, puis par sa rediffusion tout au long de l’événement, accompagnant les visiteurs dans leur appréciation de l’univers de Clémentine.

This edition of @parisdesignweek is ending and it was a blast

Thank you to everyone who came by, I loved meeting you all and exchange on this space I’ve been working on for the past few months

I’m glad I’ve got to collaborate with @godiniauxarchitecte on this scenography, it was the perfect place for a first solo exhibition and I look forward to working together again soon

Special thank you to @jade.rouanet who brought the sounds out of the workshop and took them towards another dimension in this fabulous performance

À l’occasion de la @parisdesignweek, Clémentine Long présente sa première exposition personnelle à la galerie @lepetitprieure

«Core désigne les objets à structure filaire réalisés à partir de colombins d’argile. Transposant un processus de dessin en volume, je crée chaque structure comme le squelette d’un objet-fiction.»

GRID mirror

Stoneware, hand painted platinum over glaze
55 x 50 x 2 cm

Reusing the Grid pattern by joining crossed coils in a rounded edge, this mirror was designed with a chrome finish made of platinum. The reflection of the viewer is distorted by the openwork as well as by the texture of the glazed clay.

This piece is currently on display at @lepetitprieure for my exhibition CORE during @parisdesignweek

CORE is a series of stoneware objects defined by a unique graphic gesture inspired by drawing.

Each piece is handbuilt layer by layer like a fiction, reminding of the core of a plain surface object.
Paired with the regularity of the grid, the structures keep a certain softness in revealing the hand’s trace.

Working with a range of natural shades of clay is a way to explore texture as well as structure, establishing a direct connection between the hand and material, both in the act of making and in the experience of the user.
The white satin glazed surface brings out a nuanced texture, similar to a long-travelled organic skeleton.

Function remains fluid and can switch from one to another. Tables morph into lamps, sculptures become wall mounted baskets.

I can’t wait to present new work on this first solo exhibition during @parisdesignweek at @lepetitprieure
