Step behind the curtain with director @christopherliammoore for an inside look at Private Lives, Noël Coward’s sparkling comedy of romance, wit, and rekindled passion, now playing at Cleveland Play House. When divorced former lovers unexpectedly find themselves honeymooning with new spouses on neighboring balconies, old sparks ignite, tempers flare, and chaos ensues in one of the greatest romantic comedies ever written.

Join Cleveland Play House on Monday, October 5, Noon–2 PM at the Cleveland Public Library MLK Branch (1601 Euclid Ave) for a FREE community celebration kicking off the National Endowment for the Arts’ Big Read initiative.

Experience an afternoon of history, storytelling, and the arts — featuring a 30‑minute performance, free lunch, book distribution, keynote speakers, and hands‑on activities for all ages.

The NEA Big Read invites communities to connect through a shared book, sparking conversations, creativity, and new perspectives.

This year’s selection, Harriet Tubman: The Road to Freedom by Catherine Clinton, brings Tubman’s extraordinary life into focus — freedom fighter, abolitionist, spy, nurse, and the first African American woman to serve in the U.S. military. Her story challenges us to reflect on courage, justice, and what it means to stand up for what’s right.

Join us to read, connect, and celebrate together. by @cleveplayhouse

Picture it: a moonlit terrace in the South of France, a woman in white, and one unforgettable idea. ✨

That vision helped inspire Noel Coward’s Private Lives - the story of two divorced lovers who unexpectedly meet again while honeymooning with their new spouses...on adjoining balconies.

Your move: run, hide, or say hello?
