Meet the cast of Primary Trust!
Cleveland Play House (CPH) presents the 2024 Pulitzer Prize winning play Primary Trust by Eboni Booth and Directed by Sideeq Heard @sideeqthegreat from Sunday, February 8 through Sunday, March 1, 2026, in the Outcalt Theatre at Playhouse Square. Get tickets now at LINK IN BIO.

“This is the story of a friendship. Of how I got a new job. A story of love and balance and time.” So begins Kenneth’s tale of finding a new job and discovering new beginnings, new friends, and new hopes. Absorbing, funny, and deeply moving —it’s no wonder that Primary Trust is one of the most popular plays in the country. It is a gentle, quietly powerful play about Kenneth, a soft ‑spoken bookstore clerk whose carefully ordered life unravels when he
loses his job. As he’s nudged toward new possibilities —including an unexpected opportunity at the local bank —Kenneth begins to open himself to connection and discovers that even small acts of trust can reshape a life.

Primary Trust features Debo Balogun* @debo.balogun(Kenneth), Carl Hendrick Louis * @carlhendricklouis (Bert), Christopher M. Bohan* @christopherbohan (Clay/Sam), Brianna Miller @brimillerbam (Corrina/Ensemble), Adam Ortega @adamaortega (Le Pousselet Bartender/Ensemble, u/s Clay /Sam), Meredith Nelson @meredith_g_nelson (ensemble), and Byron Johnson @bjohnsonofficial (understudy Kenneth/Bert).

Our Creando Teatro class had an amazing time seeing "Where Did We Sit on the Bus?" at @cleveplayhouse Cleveland Play House, a solo show about a young Latina exploring her family history and identity as a first-generation Salvadoran. Our class also had a special Q&A with the playwright Brian Quijada and actress Satya Chávez! Special thanks to Andrew Valdez and everyone at CPH for making this possible. Support Latinx theatre! 🌟🎭

The one-person performance, running from Oct. 23 to Nov. 14, marks @cleveplayhouse's return to live theater. 🎭

“You know, we’ve all been through so much,” says artistic director Laura Kepley. “We’ve been in isolation from each other. I just think this is an incredible opportunity for people to renew their connections to other human beings, to renew their sense of possibilities.”
