Future School is a free, 6-week virtual workshop series on climate solutions for Los Angeles, built with and for our community. It’s open to everyone, with opportunities to connect in-person at Better Future Club events throughout the series.
By participating in Future School, participants will get:

* Your people. A cohort of like-minded learners and doers.
* A bigger picture. A deep dive into what a truly resilient LA could look like.
* Real access. Direct connection with local leaders driving real solutions.
* Real work. A hands-on action project you build with your peers
* A new network. Helping you find your place in the movement.

Session 1 kicks off Wednesday, October 7 at 6:00 PM, with virtual sessions every Wednesday for six weeks. Attend as many sessions as you’d like. Expressing interest is not a commitment to attend every session. by @climatectr_wlac

Looking for a career that connects you with the community and helps the planet? Maybe you are seeking opportunities to upskill? 💚🌎 

Well, the Leadership for Environmental Conservation Noncredit Certificate at West Los Angeles College is a great place to start!

This program teaches you how to
lead community environmental projects,
use land management techniques,
analyze geographic data, and
design habitat restoration plans.

The program is completely free, totally online, and open to everyone. You just need to submit a noncredit application for admission in the college and enroll in the required courses (VOC ED 322CE, and BSICSKL 104CE).

💚 WHAT: WLAC noncredit certificate in Leadership for Environmental Conservation
🌎 WHERE: online via zoom
⏰ WHEN: Tue. and Thu. from 6  to 7:50 pm PST (our first meeting will be on Sept 15)
😎 WHO: You! (open to all and completely free)

One of the required courses (VOC ED 322CE: Environmental Conservation: Team Crew Leader) will be taught by ecologist and modeler, Dr. Levi Simons; the other course (BSICSKL 104CE: Leadership in Public Sector), will be taught by City of LA Deputy Mayor for Infrastructure and Climate Resilience, Randall Winston.  Also: You can take VOC ED 22CE in Spring or the VOC ED 23CE (Conservation Service Learning) in the summer with Emily Cobar (if you take both of these electives you will get an additional certificate in conservation studies). These are hybrid courses for spring and summer.
