POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

For my first competition, I went national, and won first in my RP2 female category.

A massive thank you to @chalkandchats for creating a community in which my confidence in climbing has grown. With the close guidance of @matt_westy_styleswest I couldn't have done it. Thank you to everyone I met yesterday and will meet on this journey, especially @dazzle_uk, and @270climbing + the setters for this awesome wall and @teambmc

My first route I missed a slightly higher foot which might have kept me on the wall. My second route I am beyond pleased with, I got so close and I'll blame the conditions on this one. In the finals, after 6 hours of isolation due to being delayed, my hands had started to swell, I was SO fatigued and I lost dexterity to hold those gnarly crimps.

(While I was the only one in my category, I'm thrilled to have brought this category into the British Nationals)

I'm in awe of what my body allowed me to achieve yesterday and severely paying for my audacity to push myself today. The last 9 months of broken bones, progressing illness, hospital visits and admission, wisdom teeth removal surgery at the start of the week, no solid food for the days leading up, only to bleed through 6 tampons whilst in isolation, I think I did alright. taken in 270 Climbing Park by @climbing.dux

Need an inclusive climbing community that has accessibility at the heart of their mission? We've got you.

We're an incredible community of climbers of ranging abilities, from complete newbies to seasoned climbers.

Located in the south of England, our home gym is @tchsouthampton where we hold our weekly Wednesday sessions. We also love to visit other gyms and facilitate socials.

My name's Annabelle/Annie and I'm the access coordinator. When I'm not working as a musician you can find me on a climbing wall, often with a dog making the most of a free seat on my wheelchair.

If you have any questions or inquiries, you can contact me directly or check out our website through the link in @chalkandchats bio. taken in The Climbing Hangar Southampton by @climbing.dux

I'll admit i'm not exactly risk adverse...

but to experience life in a world that chooses stairs over ramps, escalators instead of functional lifts, roads instead of non-hazardess pavements, I am not gifted the luxury of safety.

So we adapt and adopt a different mentality to those we share this world with. I can control the risks in climbing more than I can control the risks of living in my body.

My Word document didn't save a day's worth of work so I went climbing.

If in doubt, take it out on a 6c

Throwback to the early days when @jekgrips had to rescue me off the wall, it's become a tailored art now known as Jekspots.

I couldn't not share this footage from January as I was looking back at old climbs for a round up compilation of my first year climbing.

It took a couple tries at the dynamic crux to find the static beta... Then I was silly and placed my left foot in a stupid place.
