“So. You saw everything,” I said. “Yes.” “Heard everything.” “I’m afraid so.” “And you’ll keep silent, if—” His mouth curved, and he was dazzling. “This is where I threaten and extort, is it? Shall I ask you for money, or demand wicked deeds?” My head came up and I faced him square on, uncurling my fisted hands. “Get on with it, will you? It’s late.” Miles Singer faked his death and joined the army to use his forbidden magic to heal people, and this infuriating, beautiful man knows his secret. But all he wants is to help solve the murder that dropped on Dr. Singer's gurney. Really? Is that all? Listen to the whole Kingston Cycle on K0B0+ by @clpolk
🍷🐉 Some oaths are magic. Some are just a way to never get hurt again. @clpolk pulled up to Sistah Scifi Wine Down Wednesday to talk about The Feywild Job, the Dungeons & Dragons romantasy from Random House Worlds. 🗝️ Saeldian is a con artist whose power comes from a pact to never fall in love. That works fine until a patron hires Saeldian to steal a gem called the Kiss of Enduring Love. The catch? Kell, the bard Saeldian betrayed with a kiss almost ten years ago, is on the crew. 🌌 D&D has always been collective imagination, a world people build together around a table. Listening to C.L. Polk talk through this heist, we kept thinking about how much bigger those worlds get when our storytellers are the ones holding the map. Exes to lovers: in or out? Earlier today I saw someone bemused because their word processing software put copy and paste behind a paywall. I went downtown and bought a refill for my traveling pen. Everyone who writes longhand talks about it being so different. You might be tired of hearing it. But it's so different, friends. by @clpolk

✨ QUEER COZY ROMANTASY PUBLISHER PR MAIL ✨ Thank you SO much to @rhworlds & @delreybooks @prhaudio for sending me a #gifted PR box, stuffed with goodies like the official @DNDWizards hardcover novel of The Feywild Job by @clpolk and gaymer dice from @fanrolldice!! 🎲 OMG friends did you hear me scream from up here in the north? 😭💞 Went completely feral when the lovely folks at Random House Worlds agreed to send me this PR box, and it even arrived on my bday! 🤩 You can find my review for this book a few posts previous, but tl;dr I LOVED IT and am absoluuutely going to treasure this forever!! Also, this box came with the audiobook too and I've never listened to one before, so I cannot wait to try it out! 🎶 QotD: Happy 1 month book birthday to The Feywild Job!! Do you have any fave audiobooks/narrators? 👀 #publishermail #thefeywildjob #clpolk by @clpolk
Hi. 👋 It’s me again… talking about The Feywild Job by @clpolk 😂✨ Honestly, I don’t think I’m going to stop anytime soon because this book completely stole my heart. 💚 First, a HUGE thank you to @rhworlds for sending the most fun PR package! The book arrived in an adorable cardboard treasure chest box (which is 100% staying on my bookshelf because it’s just too cute to get rid of 😂). And the goodies?! I was smiling from ear to ear opening everything. A D&D game board?! Rainbow dice?! Maps, stickers, and so many thoughtful little surprises that made my fantasy-loving, nerdy heart SO happy. 🎲🌈✨ You already know that game board is coming to my next D&D session. But as much as I loved the package… the story is what really got me. A magical oath that forbids love. A high-stakes heist. Exes forced to work together. The Feywild. It was adventurous, funny, heartfelt, and full of so much charm. I laughed, I smiled, and I found myself wishing I could stay in this world just a little longer. These are the kinds of books I never want to stop talking about because they remind me why I fell in love with fantasy in the first place. They make me feel like a kid again, dreaming about magical worlds, impossible adventures, and rolling dice around a table with friends. 🥹✨ So… yes. I’ll be recommending this one for the foreseeable future. Thanks for putting up with me. 😂💚 💬 QOTD: What’s one book you’ve read recently that you can’t stop recommending? by @clpolk
Thanks to @delreybooks @prhaudio #partner for this fantastic influencer box for The Feywild Job! The dice and gem soap are such a cool touch. And the conundrum chamber from the story! Not only did it contain the finished copy and related items, it also included an audiobook download which I binged immediately. This was a fun, cozy magical heist story with high stakes in a queer normative world! The cast of characters was endearing and the banter entertaining. Saeldian and Kell had a rough and tangled path to their second chance romance but emerged victorious. The story was fast paced with all kinds of magical twists and turns. I loved the found family! The audiobook was highly engaging and binge worthy. Add to your TBR for: 💎 Forced proximity 💎 Cozy fantasy with high stakes 💎 Second chance romance 💎 Childhood friends to enemies 💎 Magic heist 💎 Queer normative world Q: Finish- The Feywild job was to _____. Or have you ever played Dungeons and Dragons? #cozyfantasy #newreleasebooks #bookrecs #fantasyreaders by @clpolk
Thank you to Random House Worlds @rhworlds @delreybooks @prhaudio #partner for this amazing gifted PR box! Gahhhh the book is GORGEOUS with art by @entnoot and the dice by @fanrolldice are amazing! And all the other goodies just made my day 😍😍😍😍😍 I'm a big dummy and missed the audio book code, so will enjoy listening to it later as a reread!! The Feywild Job by C.L. Polk @clpolk Cozy fantasy romance Dual POV Nonbinary main character Dungeons & Dragons world Forced proximity Found family Heist Bargain Warlock x bard One room/one bed Saeldian is a con artist who ends up in a situation being bound to carry out a heist. And they are bound to work with their old partner who hates them and thinks they betrayed him. But what Kell doesn't know is Saeldian made a vow not to fall in love in order to get their magic when they were young. As they go about their heist and the ensuing chaos, Kell starts piecing together the truth. Will they all make it through the quest and will Saeldian get free to be able to finally love? What a cozy, cute book! I'm a huge fan of D&D and role playing games, so I was so very excited for this adventure! The D&D world is so fun and full of details that fans will appreciate, but I think still enjoyable for those not familiar! They use spells and beg for short periods of rest and there are fun name drops! Beyond the fun world, we have an action packed (and comedically disastrous) quest that is still cozy and has a great crew of characters. The slower pace of the beginning of the book turns into twists and reveals towards the end that kept me awake too late! I had a great time and will be looking up this author's other books! ❓Do you like D&D or other table top games? 👀👀 by @clpolk
Some new books I’m excited about right now: The Redemption Center Is Closed on Sundays by Andrea Hairston, The Feywild Job by C. L. Polk, and House of Margins by Tlotlo Tsamaase. 📚✨ I love discovering books that immediately spark my curiosity, and these three feel full of imagination, tension, and possibility. My reading stack is already speaking to me, and these are definitely near the top. There’s something so joyful about looking ahead to stories that promise new worlds, sharp questions, and unforgettable characters. I can’t wait to spend time with each of these. Have you read any of them yet? Which one should I start with first? 💛 #CurrentlyReading #AngelaDalton #BookRecommendations #ReadingList #AmReading by @clpolk
