These fellas are FAST 💨

5️⃣ American men went under the 2:16:00 qualifying standard for the 2028 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials in Berlin — including 1️⃣ new qualifier.

• @cls1423 lowered his personal best from 2:11:28 to 2:09:33. He becomes the 60th American man to run under 2:10 in the marathon.

• @willhnation also squeaked out a five-second personal best improvement from his race at CIM last fall.

• @dewalllars also gets a 17-second personal best from his 37th place finish at April’s Boston Marathon.

• @t.roy_brown took nearly three minutes off his personal best

• @bmartin28 notches a personal best at 37 years old to secure his spot at his fourth U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials. His previous personal best was 2:15:30 from the 2015 Grandma’s Marathon. He was 20th at the 2016 Trials in Los Angeles.

Part 3 in our “Charlie Sweeney / Road to Boston” series.

This is Charlie’s 2nd Boston Marathon, and as is always the case... he continues to push harder. We’re happy to be alongside him on his journey and we’re looking forward to everything in store for him as he continues to stay focused on what matters as an endurance athlete.

Need advice on balancing work and training?

Just ask COROS Community Manager, @cls1423 , who’s building toward a performance that could place him among the top American finishers at the Boston Marathon.

Charlie could teach a masterclass on how to manage an elite training load with working 9-5. His days are structured, often rigidly so. Mornings begin with work, then a midday run. Afternoons he’s back at the desk. Evenings close with a second session, followed by dinner, recovery, and sleep.
