ITS BEEN A WHILE 📆 In fact I haven’t posted on this grid since before Christmas Maybe you noticed, maybe you didn’t I haven’t missed being on social media I began to feel like a slave to the algorithm If you run your own small business, perhaps you can relate I posted consistently on social media for over seven years It felt right for me at the time But that time has now passed I’ve decluttered my home and so many aspects of my life Now it’s time to minimise my online time It’s time for other things More time spent in the real world rather than the virtual world Over the last few months I’ve enjoyed more time Reading actual books More time in nature More face to face meet ups and phone calls Playing more games Listening to music I’ll still be posting here, but much less frequently Only when I feel like it and have something new to share that you might find interesting So please stick with me (if you’d like to), but if you’re not on here every day, you won’t be missing out If anyone else reads this and can relate, drop me a thumbs up or a comment, I’d be interested to hear how you’re feeling about spending time online by @clutterfreejo

What a lovely husband! 💗 🎁 I received an email from a man wanting to buy a gift voucher for a Decluttering & Organising session for his wife This is what he wrote, "I would really like to improve things for her, in particular so that she can relax more easily and get more enjoyment from being at home." How thoughtful! Is there a room in your house that's standing between you and a stress free Christmas? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Let's just go down the list: Living Room - I'm picturing it clutter free, plenty of space for guests to sit, a cozy fire, decorations up and space to enjoy a board game with family and friends. ✅ Dining Room - space to extend the table to seat extra family, a beautifully decorated table, enough crockery for extra place settings easily accessible. ✅ Kitchen - space in your freezer and cupboards well organised, ready for you to easily plan food for the festive season, make your lists and place your order. Room for impromptu guests to drop in and perch on a bar stool, enjoying drinks and nibbles, without you feeling embarrassed by the state of your kitchen. ✅ Play Room - decluttered and tidy, ready to receive the inevitable influx of new toys and games, or maybe converted into a cozy den for older kids, to enjoy watching Christmas films with their friends. ✅ Guest Room - the bed and floor space clear and clutter free, fresh bedlinen waiting to go on, everything ready for you to add the last minute seasonal decorative touches to make your guests feel welcome ✅ If you can put a big tick by all of these, you're on track so scroll on past, you don't need my help! 5 BILLION POUNDS - spent on UNWANTED Christmas gifts Apparently that’s the amount spent on unwanted Christmas gifts each year in the UK What a waste! 🎁 Click few for some ideas for gifts that won’t take up space and add to your clutter (or anyone else's!) DON'T FOLLOW THE HERD 🐄 🐮 🐄 Black Friday - fabulous retail opportunity, or a well thought out marketing ploy to get us to buy more stuff we don't need, to add to the clutter in our houses (or in someone else's house in the case of a gift) 🤔 As any of you who have worked with me on decluttering and organising projects know well, I’m not a fan 👎 If there's something you've been waiting to buy for months and you get a good deal, great, but at the very least make it work for you and not the other way round Even then, please be very wary ⛔️ Are you sure that it is the fantastic deal that you're being led to believe it is There are more and more reports of substandard goods being offloaded into Black Friday sales, particularly electrical items Put some friction between you and pressing the buy now button, go for a walk, read a book, have a coffee with a friend Do you still want to buy it? Let's support our local community shops and businesses rather than the retail giants this year If we don't, in the future we'll have no choice, only the giants will survive Each time we spend money, we vote for the sort of future we want Boycott or Buy - what will you be doing this Black Friday (or even Black Week as it seems to have now become)? TELL ME 🤔 Is your office or workspace looking more like the first photo or the second photo at the bottom? INTERESTING FACT 🤔 It seems Clotter (or Clutter) has been around for a long time Probably not at the scale we see it today, because there just wasn't as much available in those days The definition makes sense though Clutter blocks up passageways, fills cupboards, sometimes whole rooms Imagine what it might feel like to clear it and let the energy flow again You wouldn't just be freeing up a physical blockage The chances are (and I've seen this first hand many times), it would free up a psychological blockage as well What do you think Maybe you've already experienced the flow of energy that clutter clearing brings? . . . #lessstuffmorelife #lessismoreliving #clutterfreehomestyle #freedomwithless by @clutterfreejo

READING VARIETY ⬆️ BOOK CLUTTER ⬇️ You love books, but do you really need to own everything you read 🤔 📚 Rather than buying, why not make use of your local library?
