A beginners guide to Thornstone! More and more will be coming out once I get closer to publishing, such as the actual worldbuilding and info about magic, characters (plus side characters), and extra tidbits!

🍃
• “Thornstone” is a temporary title, but will be used for early readers & early introductions
• a high fantasy novel, in its 3rd drafting stage
• it never gets easier posting about my work lol

The premise and the perks of alpha reading Thornstone! I’m looking for different kinds of readers, to have a good outlook on the earliest draft. Will it be completely different after feedback? Who knows!!!

DEADLINE: July 28th
ACCEPTANCE: August 1st

🍃
• “Thornstone” is a temporary title, but will be used for early readers & early introductions (I am just indecisive)
• these fun tidbits are specifically about the debut, and not necessarily about the ones following

Introducing my high fantasy novel! Alpha reader applications will go live on July 14th, and the temporary blurb is coming soon ❤️

💬 have any characters piqued interest so far? — I’m going to do official intros eventually hehe

🍃
• a fantasy novel, not to be confused with epic fantasy or portal fantasy
• “Thornstone” is a temporary title, but will be used for early readers & early introductions (I am just indecisive)
• these fun tidbits are specifically about the debut, and not necessarily about the ones following
• this is absolutely terrifying lmao, pls

Instagram deleted my whole flippin caption!?

30 days self-challenge update? My goal is to write for 20hrs a week, and I only reached 50% in week 1! BUT I got a lot of writing done in that time so I’m pretty okay with that. I’m hoping to reach 100% of my goal the remainder of the time!

Also, peep some of the words I had to look up the spelling for 😭✋ for my sanity I will not be sharing the rest if the 100,000,000 words

This is who I write for, and who the entirety of the Draesha series is for as well! The last slide is for all of you 🫵 a reminder not to settle for anything less than your craziest dreams

Looking up what book tropes were led to this post 😂 and of course, I made it a numbered list because I like to put lists into number generators and see what shenanigans come out of them

☀️ I’m gonna start writing “part-time” and updating you guys through the process! What it means, for me, is working on my book for (at least) 20hrs a week. I’ll post wc, times, and snippets as I go! And hopefully I don’t absolutely fail at my own challenge, aha. I’m shooting for 30 days, and if I do well then I’m gonna shoot for 100 days because I’m crazy.

What’s one of your author goals? I feel like this isn’t too much to ask for, mayhaps 🙏 I’m a very simple person. Honestly, once I publish I’m set! The other ones can be fulfilled or not, and I’d still be happy!

☀️ I’ve started writing Draft 3 of Thornstone, and I’m still set to publish in 2027! Though, don’t be surprised if I finish Book 1 and start working on Book 2, to publish in 2028 instead 🥲 cause life has been throwing me some rough ones this year!

Everything I’ve read in 2026, so far! And not a single bad read, hello?! ❤️🙏✨ my current reads are:

1: Brighter Than Nine by June CL Tan
2: Ideal Lost, Part One: The Shrikes by JT Wong @jtwongwriting 🏎️💨 (ARC)

How many books have you read this year? This is the most for me in YEARS, I tell ya. It’s been a journey getting back into a reading habit!

kinda chic to have my first ever alpha reader feedback from @nocturne_attie 🙏🫶✨ it’s genuinely made me so happy that someone else is feeling the emotions I felt while writing it

☀️ so I tried the waking up at 4am thing like I’ve seen in so many author’s routines, but my brain cannot function enough to write/work that early 😭 like how?!! maybe i should try at least 3 days though

A guide to an agent’s guide to- it’s a list but this sounded funny in my head 😅 one day, I would love to do one of these!

💬 QOTD: what is your book’s title or project name? — I’ve got Thornstone (book 1) & Flowfire (book 2); I’ll be doing a title reveal this year 👀 it’s gonna be an adjustment considering how long I’ve had it as project Thornstone, lmao.

friendly reminder to make sure each element used on canva is not ai by clicking the info button, or else your post will be automatically flagged, like check EVERY element even though it’s tedious. i’m not even confident that it’ll work, but it’s good for peace of mind too.
