Costa Mesa resident Ramon Guzman was recently awarded a City of Costa Mesa Arts Grant to create a public art installation celebrating Hispanic heritage and the many contributions of the Hispanic community to our city. ✨

Our Mayor, City Council members, City Manager, Arts Commissioners, city staff, and members of the community joined us in celebrating Ramon and his inspiring installation. 🖼️

This beautiful piece is more than art—it’s a celebration of culture, creativity, heritage, and the people who help make Costa Mesa such a vibrant and welcoming community. 🫶

Be sure to stop by the Lions Park Event Lawn to see Ramon’s installation, on display through Oct. 15 in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month!😊

2026 ARTventure “People’s Choice Award” winner Kingsley Aarons is a multidisciplinary Orange County artist whose work bridges the tactile and the digital with striking precision. With roots in graphic design and a foundation in traditional painting, he creates bold, hand-crafted compositions that merge opposing forces and explores the shifting boundaries of perception and reality, embracing contradiction to uncover a new visual language.

His award winning entry, “Mrs. Smith,” uses layered imagery to blur the lines between architecture, memory and identity. The end result reflects Kingsley’s ongoing interest in perception, contradiction and the way beauty can emerge from tension, distortion and layered experience. Obviously it made an impression on other attendees at this year’s ARTventure opening event as well, earning the most votes from the public to secure it as this year’s “People’s Choice Award” winner.
