375+ creative leaders made it out to Trinidad!

Last week, Colorado’s creative community gathered in Create Trinidad Creative District for the 2026 CCI Summit.

Together, we explored the future of arts, culture, community development, film, creative districts, entrepreneurship, and placemaking across Colorado. We learned from one another, celebrated achievements, and strengthened connections that will continue long after the Summit ends.

Thank you to every attendee, presenter, partner, sponsor, volunteer, artist, performer, venue, and community member who helped make this gathering possible.

The energy, generosity, and creativity shared throughout Trinidad reminded us that creativity lives in every corner of Colorado.

We’re grateful you were part of it. 💙

As we look forward, CCI plans to move to a biennial schedule and our next CCI Summit will take place in 2028 in Estes Arts District. The updated model reflects the growth of the Summit and our commitment to investing in high-quality convening that foster professional development, collaboration and relationship building across the state’s creative sector! Stay tuned for more updates!

Meet Tami Graham, recipient of the 2026 Governor’s Creative Leadership Award for Arts & Community Action.

As Executive Director of KSUT Public Radio, Tami has spent decades strengthening Colorado communities through nonprofit leadership, collaboration, and creative problem-solving. She led two successful capital campaigns that raised more than $5 million, helping create permanent homes for both KSUT and Mancos Common Press.

A professional mediator, facilitator, and former nonprofit consultant, Tami has dedicated her career to building connections, supporting organizations, and expanding opportunities across the arts and culture sector. She also served six years on the Colorado Creative Industries Advisory Board as a gubernatorial appointee.

A fifth-generation Coloradan, Tami’s commitment to community is matched only by her love for adventure—having summited more than 45 of Colorado’s 14ers. by @co_creatives

Colorado Day marked the opening of “Colorado: Past. Present. Future.” Creative Capitol Exhibition at the Colorado State Capitol, celebrating the artists, traditions, and cultural heritage that continue to shape communities across our state.

Presented by Colorado Creative Industries in honor of Colorado’s 150th anniversary, the exhibition features work by artists and arts organizations connected through CCI’s Folk & Traditional Arts Project Grant program, highlighting living traditions that are preserved, practiced, and passed from one generation to the next.

We were honored to celebrate the opening alongside Colorado’s 11th Poet Laureate, Crisosto Apache, and exhibiting artists including Julio Mendoza, Jim Brainard, The Paonia Build Guild, and the San Luis Valley colcha embroidery artists, whose work reflects the depth, diversity, and living traditions that continue to enrich Colorado’s cultural landscape.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to visit, Colorado: Past, Present, Future is on view at the @coloradostatecapitol through February 28, 2027 and features 60+ artists from across the state.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Arts Round Table Sept 4th! It was an honor for @telluridewheelhouse to host and bring together members of Governor Polis' office and CCI/OEDIT with so many people who make our local arts community incredible.

A HUGE thanks goes out to –
Jessica Galbo of @telluridearts for helping plan and collaborate on the event with us.
Arielle Brachfeld, Lisa Kaufmann, Lauren Sloan, and David Oppenheim for making the time to attend and engaging so fully while visiting Telluride.

Today Grand Lake has nine new homes built for the people who choose to live and create here.

The Space to Create Residences Grand Lake officially opened doors yesterday afternoon, giving artists and makers an affordable place to live with a studio/storefront attached, right in the middle of downtown and just next door to the Grand Spirit Makerspace, where residents can teach and anyone can sign up for a class.

It's been a long road here. The idea took shape back in 2019, when hundreds of people shared what it would take for creative folks to build a life in Grand Lake, and today that vision became the third Space to Create community in Colorado. @9news was here for the celebration, and you can catch their story at the link in stories.

The studios are open and the storefronts face the street, so next time you find yourself in Grand Lake, wander over to Park Avenue and see what your new neighbors are making.
