POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Senior Night was tonight. 🤍

I am so incredibly proud of this young lady. Ruth has fought through more than most people ever see during her high school wrestling career — not just on the mat, but in life. Along the way, she’s learned lessons far bigger than wins and losses: how to face obstacles head-on, how to endure the hardest seasons, how to handle adversity and how to keep showing up when it would have been easier to quit.

Her strength and resilience are a few of the many things I admire about her. Wrestling was always her choice, never something I expected her to love, it was never pushed on her, it has never been about proving anything to anyone else. She chose it, she committed to it, and she carried it with quiet determination and courage. I've just been happy to support her along the way.

I am thankful every single day to have her, and even more grateful that I get to share this passion with her. Watching her grow, as an athlete, a leader, and a person, has been one of the greatest privileges of my life.

So proud of you, Ruth. Always. 🖤🤼‍♀️

✨ Meet Coach Tabetha ✨

I first stepped onto the mat back in 2000 as a high school wrestler. Though an injury shortened my time competing, the love for this sport never left me. Years later, when my daughter began wrestling in high school, that spark came alive again—and it’s only grown stronger since.

Today, I’m proud to support our female wrestlers, help grow our local youth team, and give back to the community that has given me so much. Wrestling has brought me lifelong friends, amazing colleagues, and countless lessons in resilience, teamwork, and heart. 💪

I can’t wait to continue this journey with all of you, and to inspire the next generation of wrestlers on and off the mat. 🖤🤼‍♀️ by @coach.tabetha

As we enter the final day of the U23 World Championships, with the Senior World Championships on the horizon, no athlete stands on that mat alone.

Behind every wrestler is a lifetime of people who have helped shape their journey. Some have been there since the very beginning. Others entered their lives for a season, a single challenge, or a pivotal moment.

Coaches who believed in their potential. Trainers who helped build their strength. Parents who sacrificed their time, finances, and energy. Teachers who encouraged their growth. Medical professionals who helped them recover. Psychologists who helped them navigate the mental demands of competition. Siblings, teammates, friends, and mentors who challenged them, supported them, celebrated their victories, and stood beside them through their defeats.

Some taught technique. Others taught discipline, resilience, accountability, confidence, compassion, or the courage to keep going when things became difficult.

Each played a part. Each contributed something to the story.

And while the athlete is ultimately responsible for the work, the decisions, the sacrifices, and the courage it takes to step onto that mat, we should never underestimate the influence we can have on another person's journey.

We may never know which conversation, correction, encouragement, or moment of kindness will stay with an athlete long after they've left the practice room.

Not every athlete we influence will become a world champion. But every athlete we influence will carry something from their experiences into the rest of their life.

And perhaps that's one of the greatest responsibilities, and privileges, of being part of this sport.

We aren't just developing wrestlers. We're helping shape people, communities, and the future of wrestling itself.

To every athlete and to the countless people who have helped them get there: your contributions matter.

And to those of us working with the next generation, remember that the impact of what we do today may reach further than we'll ever get to see.

🤼‍♀️🇺🇸 @unitedworldwrestling U23 CHAMPIONSHIPS | KNOW BEFORE YOU GO!

U23 World Wrestling Championships are being held on U.S. soil! 🇺🇸 Hopefully, you took advantage of the FREE all-access event pass offered through your @usawrestling membership renewal! 🙌

📍 PARKING: As of Friday, parking is now $30.

🎒 BAG POLICY: Bags must be 8" × 11" or smaller, or clear

🥤 FOOD & DRINKS: No outside food or beverages, with the exception of a small, factory-sealed water bottle.

🚶‍♀️ RE-ENTRY: You CAN leave the arena and come back in!

There's a several-hour break in competition after repechage and before the evening semifinals and finals.

🛍️ MERCHANDISE: When you enter, look to your right! @rudiswrestling has some great deals, along with official event merchandise.

🔋 PHONE CHARGING: Charging stations are available inside the arena.

☕ CONCESSIONS: Only two concession areas have been open. One offers regular coffee and smaller snacks, while the other has sodas and a slightly larger food selection. (PHOTO IN REEL)

🤼‍♀️ I was surprised (a little disappointed) by how empty the arena was during the week. We're watching some of the best young wrestlers in the WORLD compete, right here in the United States, and I would love to see more people in the stands supporting them!

With the weekend here and attendance expected to increase, I'm hoping to see those stands FILLED!

These athletes have traveled from around the world, dedicated years to their sport, and earned the opportunity to compete on this stage. What an incredible opportunity for our young wrestlers, families, and coaches to witness international wrestling at this level without traveling overseas.

If you're within driving distance of Las Vegas, come out and support these athletes! Bring your young wrestlers, watch some world-class competition, and experience what wrestling looks like on the international stage.

Let's show the wrestling world what kind of support this sport has here in the U.S.! 🇺🇸🌎

🤼💚 World Mental Health Day 💚 🤼‍♀️

Wrestling is a sport that demands an extraordinary amount from its athletes:
Discipline. Resilience. Sacrifice. Emotional control. The willingness to face uncomfortable situations, accept failure, and continue showing up.

We often talk about the mental toughness required to succeed in wrestling.

But somewhere along the way, we need to be careful that we're not teaching athletes that being mentally tough means ignoring their mental health.

Mental toughness and mental health are not the same thing.

Wrestlers can love their sport and still feel overwhelmed by expectations. They can be successful on the mat while struggling with their identity, relationships, or sense of self-worth off of it.

As coaches, we have an incredible opportunity and responsibility to shape how athletes understand these experiences.

We teach them how to respond to adversity, how to manage frustration, how to set goals, and how to recover from failure.

We should also be teaching them that asking for help isn't weakness.

The lessons we teach on the mat have a way of following our athletes into the rest of their lives.

To our athletes: You are more than your performance.

To our coaches: The words you use, the environments you create or allow, and the behaviors you model matter.

To our wrestling community: Let's build a culture where strength isn't measured solely by how much someone can endure or win, but also by how well we learn to care for ourselves and one another.

Ultimately, our responsibility isn't simply to develop better wrestlers. It's to help develop healthier, stronger, more capable human beings.

💚 Fierce & Fearless.

One of the hardest lessons to learn is that you can do everything with good intentions and still be misunderstood.

You can explain yourself more clearly.
Work harder.
Be kinder.
Try to prove your heart.
Replay the conversation and wonder what you could have said differently.

And sometimes, none of it changes someone else’s opinion of you.

There is a different kind of strength in recognizing what belongs to you and what doesn’t.

Your actions belong to you.
Your integrity belongs to you.
How you treat people belongs to you.
The way you respond, grow, and move forward belongs to you.

But someone else’s assumptions, projections, judgments, or decision not to understand you? Those are theirs.

Peace doesn’t always come when everyone finally sees you correctly.

Sometimes it comes when you realize they don’t have to.

Protect your character. Keep doing the work. Let the rest belong to them.

Thank you to @sallyroberts_wins and @jjhowland
for the reminders when I needed them

Legendary @pennstatewrest Coach John Fritz.

What an incredible opportunity for our wrestlers to learn from someone who has accomplished so much in this sport and continues to give back to it.

People often ask wrestlers what life looks like after wrestling. Coach Fritz is such a great example of why maybe that isn’t really the question.

Wrestling doesn’t necessarily end when the competition ends. The lessons, relationships, leadership, and love for the sport can follow you for a lifetime. And sometimes, you get the opportunity to turn around and pour all of that experience back into the next generation.

There is something pretty special about watching a coach with decades of knowledge step onto the mat and still be excited to teach, share stories, and help young wrestlers grow.

Our athletes were incredibly fortunate to have Coach Fritz spend time with them at camp. Experiences like this are part of what makes wrestling so special, the generations of wrestlers and coaches who continue to come back and invest in those coming behind them.

Thank you, Coach Fritz, for continuing to give back to the sport. 🤼‍♀️🤼‍♂️
