POSTS STORIES REELS

What started as a vision is now a movement. ⚾✊🏾

Every year on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, @blackbaseballmedia hosts its MLK Camp , a free camp created to expose, empower, and inspire Black youth through baseball ⚾️ and softball 🥎

The mission has always been bigger than drills and ground balls.

It’s about honoring Dr. King’s legacy through opportunity ‼️
It’s about bringing the community together ✊🏻✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿

From beginners picking up a glove for the first time to young athletes sharpening their skills, the MLK Camp has become a space for mentorship, culture, and real access to the sport.

Huge thank you to NBC Chicago @nbcchicago and @nbcnatalie for covering the camp and helping to spread the awareness 📺✨

If you believe in growing the game and creating pathways for our youth 👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾

Gotham you have 90 minutes to answer or GOTHAM IS MINE ✳️🪄🎩👓❓ by @coach_e_of_guru

Larry Huggins @lhrh_givinghugs opened the door. @thebiggreenw Walsh helped us build what’s on the other side.

That one introduction led me to Ray Whearley, Senior Project Manager, and Jeff Pezza, Vice President and Business Group Leader at Walsh Construction.

We sat down and talked about what Walsh truly cares about: community. Then they made their own video and brought their team out to the Chicago HBCU Baseball Classic.

A door being opened for you is just the start. What you do after you walk through it is the relationship.

The first ever HBCU baseball game at Wrigley Field didn’t start with a game. It started with a relationship.

Nobody puts on HBCU baseball at Wrigley Field alone.

A vision needs a believer, a connector, and a team that executes. Mr. Ricketts believed. Glenn connected. Mike and Will executed.

That’s how relationships move the game, all the way to Wrigley Field.

Baseball is the proof. Relationships are the lesson.

So who’s the glue in your world? The person who connects you to the right person. Send them two lines today.

Nobody earns a certification alone.

When the @nmsdchq Minority Business Enterprise approval came through earlier this month, we spent a day sending thank-you notes. We wrote to people who took a meeting when BBM was just an idea, partners who believed before there was a scoreboard, and families who trusted us with their kids.

That’s what “Relationships Move the Game” with @coach_e_of_guru means to us. Baseball got us in the room, but people kept us there.

In 2026 that network helped Black Baseball Media reinvest $75K+ in communities, support 18 high school programs and serve 750+ young people through free Chicago camps and clinics.

The certification is the paperwork. The relationships are the foundation.

If you’ve ever answered our call, shared a post or showed up at a game, thank you. ❤️

How do you reconnect with someone you haven’t talked to in a year❓

Don’t lead with the gap. Lead with them.

➡️Mention something that made you think of them.
➡️Congratulate a win you noticed.
➡️Ask a real question about what they’re building.

No pitch.
No ask.
Just genuine interest. 💯

Baseball is the proof. Relationships are the lesson.

Who are you reconnecting with❓
