Hello Everyone, it’s been a bit and I want to take a moment to reintroduce myself.

My name is Bart Ryan, and I’m a coach who believes that fitness and health is so much more than mere numbers and metrics. It’s about feeling stronger, centered, capable, and confident in everyday life.

Over the years, I have built my coaching around a few simple values that guide me through what I do:
- Integrity: staying honest, transparent, and leading by example.
- Consistency: showing up for yourself every single day even when it’s hard
- Empowerment: helping you build strength that goes beyond what we do in the gym.
- Growth: physical, mental, emotional growth at a pace that is both sustainable and personal.
My goal as a coach is to meet individuals where they are, help them build the tools, habits, and mindset that lead to long-term continuous lifestyle changes and not just for quick results.

If you’re ready to take the next step in your life towards a stronger, more balanced version of yourself, I am here to help you get there.

Last one before race day.

Clocked in 12.71 miles today and was really pleased with how I was able to push the pace and get more miles in than previous attempts in the same amount of time. A lot of work and time to get to this point. Next week, I get to show it. Can’t wait.

Did a repeat this week.

The last couple weeks of running left a lot to be desired. I definitely feel like I left a lot on the table and some things that needed to be addressed mid run. With that being said, I decided to do the same trail I did about a month ago just to push the pace a little more. I figured that the familiarity with the trail would allow me to pace better, anticipate when I needed to slow down, and make sure that I could stick with it throughout the entirety of the run.

This ended up being true and I ended up doing an 11.3 mile run (longest one so far) in about 2.5 hours. Again, I haven’t been trying to accumulate miles or speed as much as it’s about accumulating time on the trail. I feel like it’s been coming along. Almost to race day.

Got 2 in this week.

It needs to be noted that I am not a runner. I have never been a runner. This is something I was not good at and something I still need a lot of improvement, but I’m proud of my efforts and proud of myself for overcoming and challenging myself to do something I was never exceptional at.

Almost to race day. Just a few more runs to go.

Anotha one. For me, I’m not so concerned with how high I get my heart rate during these trail runs as I am with making sure my body can hold up for a prolonged period of time. I’m definitely not used to hitting the trails for this amount of time, but I know that it’ll pay off on race day.

Still pacing and making sure I’m accumulating time more so than miles. Excited to see how things continue to progress and how prepared I am for November.

Trail Running. If I told myself 10 years ago this is where our fitness endeavors would have taken us, I would’ve laughed. Big boi Bart couldn’t run down the block let alone voluntarily go for a run outside in the sun.

Started doing trail runs today in preparation for my Spartan “Beast” in November. I definitely enjoyed myself just running and trying to hold consistent movement and pace. It’s good to engage in physical challenges outside the normal gym going things. I feel like this is something I’ll enjoy moving forward.

I finished up my strength program rather underwhelming. I went in to hit an all time PR back squat and I ended up not getting it done. My legs were crushed and it was ill advised to try to go for more. However, despite the short comings at the end of the program, I definitely had some solid strength sessions and am proud of my efforts.

Snuck in that snatch PR, which was awesome. I’m going to be focusing on preparation for my Spartan “Beast” (20K) Race over the next couple of months then we’ll see if strength will make another return.

Snatch Lifetime PR - 191.

The strength block payed off. I definitely feel like there’s a lot more to clean up and work on, but I’m happy overall with my efforts and the consistency that I’ve put in and the work I’ve done to get a PR. Good times.
