⚾ Helping baseball families navigate college recruiting
🏆 Ex-NCAA head coach · Cubs draft pick · 700+ athletes since 1987
⬇️ Get your son evaluated

🚨 PARENTS: DON’T MAKE A COLLEGE RECRUITING DECISION WHEN YOUR SON IS 12 OR 13.

The trend of holding athletes back or reclassifying them to gain a future recruiting advantage is getting more attention.

But here’s the question:

How do you know what your son will need at 17 or 18 when he’s 12 or 13?

You don’t.

His size will change.
His strength will change.
His speed will change.
His baseball skills will change.
His maturity will change.
And most importantly… his goals may change.

Instead of making the decision too early, let him progress through high school.

Use those years to BUILD.

⚾ Develop the body.
⚾ Develop the baseball skills.
⚾ Get stronger and faster.
⚾ Take academics seriously.
⚾ Learn what level he can realistically play.
⚾ Get honest evaluations.
⚾ Understand what college coaches are looking for.
⚾ Build a plan around what HE needs to accomplish.

Then, when he’s 17 or 18 and approaching his junior or senior year, you have real information.

Where is he physically?

Where is he developmentally?

What level is recruiting him?

What does he still need to improve?

Would a gap year or post-grad year actually benefit HIM?

THAT is when you can make an educated decision.

The goal isn’t to find a shortcut at 12.

The goal is to put your son in the best possible position when he’s 17 or 18.

Don’t rush the decision.

Build the athlete first. Build the plan. Then make the decision when you have the information to make it.

👉 “Why isn’t my son getting any recruiting looks? He’s a D1 talent!”

That’s a question I hear from parents all the time.

And sometimes the answer isn’t his baseball skills.

It’s size and speed.

If a player has the skill to compete, but he’s smaller, slower, or physically behind the players he’s competing against, that can make a BIG difference in how coaches evaluate him.

Today’s recruiting landscape is filled with bigger, stronger, faster—and often older—players competing for the same roster spots.

So don’t just ask:

“Why isn’t he getting recruited?”

Ask:

“What does he need to improve physically to become more recruitable?”

Strength and speed development isn’t about changing who your athlete is.

It’s about giving his talent a better chance to show up. ⚾️

Develop the athlete. Then go get the exposure.

🙌This is exactly why I do what I do.

Working with youth athletes… helping them chase their goals… guiding parents through the chaos of recruiting and youth sports… and doing my part to keep the tradition and passion of the game alive.

It’s not always easy. It’s a crazy world to navigate. But seeing players grow, families find clarity, and dreams start to take shape… that’s what it’s all about.

I truly love it. And I’m grateful for every parent, player, and coach who trusts and supports this journey.

If you believe in developing athletes the right way and building something bigger than the game…

Throwing 85 by 14 isn't the golden ticket you've been told it is. Pushing velocity before their bodies mature raises the risk of injury and Tommy John surgery. Let them grow, build strength and work on mechanics first. #baseballparents #youthbaseball #pitching #baseballlife #coachbeede by @coachbeede

BE WHERE YOUR FEET ARE.

The biggest moments in baseball demand one thing: BE PRESENT.

Forget the last pitch. Don’t worry about the next inning. Lock in on the moment right in front of you.

The players who thrive under pressure are the ones who embrace it

This is a great quote by Jake Bauers

How important is the mental side of baseball? 👀👇

Travel ball is good for reps, but it's not great for college recruiting. If you're paying big money for it, some of that belongs in strength, conditioning and physical prep for the college game. Link in my bio.

In high school your son competed against boys. In college he'll compete against men 20 to 25 years old who have a plan at the plate and a roster spot to protect. Is he really ready for that workload? by @coachbeede

💪 WANT TO PLAY AT THE NEXT LEVEL? GET STRONGER. GET FASTER.

Strength and speed are separators in college baseball. They’re areas you can start improving TODAY to give yourself an edge.

Already lifting and training? Take it to the next level. Be intentional. Be consistent. Keep getting better.

⚾ Nobody is ever going to tell you that you’re TOO STRONG to play baseball.

Stop waiting. Start working. Your future self will thank you.

🚨 PLAYING COLLEGE BASEBALL IS A PRIVILEGE. DON’T TAKE IT FOR GRANTED.

“If you’re getting recruited by anybody, you are in the vast minority.” — Patrick Robey, Head Coach at Belhaven University.

Too many players lose sight of how special this opportunity really is.

If a college coach is recruiting you, you’ve already accomplished something most high school athletes never will.

Whether it’s D1, D2, D3, NAIA, or JUCO, embrace the opportunity. Respect the process, appreciate the coaches investing in you, and never take for granted the chance to compete at the next level.

👉 Be grateful. Stay humble. Keep working. Make the most of your opportunity.

THE MENTAL SIDE OF PITCHING.

Tyler Glasnow gives a look inside the mindset of a big-league pitcher

At the highest level, it’s not just about how hard you throw or how nasty your stuff is.

It’s also about how you approach the game.

YOUNG PITCHERS, TAKE NOTES.

🚨NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE IMPORTANCE OF PLAYING CATCH!

At every level of baseball, the little things matter. And playing catch is one of them. College coaches pay close attention to how players throw, move, handle the ball, and approach the fundamentals when they’re out recruiting.

It’s not just about how hard you throw. It’s about how you play the game.

Master the basics. They’re always watching. 👀
