To live life with a pure heart is to live a life where you are constantly accumulating wounds. Because pure hearts are something everyone wants, but few people appreciate.

What was the stone that was actually rolled away? I submit to you that it was the things that we built up to protect our hearts. Jesus was at the heart of the resurrection, and that heart was bruised for our transgressions. To truly live life with a heart after God, you have to be willing to be bruised for transgressions. Some of those transgressions are yours, some are your bloodlines, and some are attached to your calling.

I have had my heart wounded more times than I can count. By the thorn in flesh that His grace covers, by the scars of life, and by just trying to be a man after God's own Heart.

On this day, ask yourself, "Do you truly want a pure heart?" If the answer is yes, know that to get the purity out of anything it must be pressed down, crushed, and shaken. The resurrection is simply Christ rising from his wounded heart. A heart that was wounded by us. He gladly allowed the purification of his heart unto death. Now his purity covers us so that we can have time to gain that same purity to cover others.

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. - 1Peter 4:8

I love what and I do, and this past Thursday I got to do what I love. STEM coordinator @just_scienze at DCSD Ronald E. McNair middle school asked if I would come and put the A in Stem for her 6th graders. I said absolutely. She was like they can be a hand full. I am like so can I 😅. She needed them to experience a level of instruction they don't often get because sometimes we as educators don't push them past our preconceived expectations. I told her I got this and we had a time. They previously were painting the solar system but nothing was looking up to par. So I came in gave them a quick color theory lesson and made mixing formulas for each planet, moon, and sun. Some students painted 3D some 2D. Some had "artistic" intuitions other had an ear to hear and carried out any tips I gave them. Everyone came out with something great and were excited about what they accomplished when someone believed they could do more than the "meets expectations".

So a group of boys had the unmitigated gall to camp out in my room between 7:58 AM and 8:10 AM vaping. The streets told me this morning and it wasn't the first time. They were today about 30 deep. I told the Dean of Students that I am apologizing for whatever happens tomorrow morning. She was alarmed and my Dept Chair told her what happened. They ran the security video and identified at least 20 of them. Every time she looked at me like is he in your class I'm like nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, etc. My get back will be chef's kiss. by @coachemuphill

Struggling with compliance for compliance sake. Always been the why person. And I encourage my students to ask me why. Wants the point of being directed to do something that is never reviewed. When the only time you've gotten something said to you was through an email in late September. Other than that you really don't exist unless you didn't check a box. by @coachemuphill

The anime kids got someone to be the Art Club sponsor 😭. And it wasn't me. My kids heard the morning announcement ...if you like to draw anime...art is creative and fun...come join us and just be creative. My kids were like 🙄. It's not that easy. Iykyk by @coachemuphill

God gives the most amazing 360 moments to me. Our new 10th AP is a former student of mine when I first started teaching way back when he was in Pre-K. I drew small 6×9 portraits of each student in the class and he said his mom still has it. by @coachemuphill
