14 years ago, I was 60 lbs heavier, and stuck in a cycle of frustration. I tried every "common sense" diet and workout, but nothing seemed to stick. A little progress, then backsliding.

I almost gave up. But then I found the power of real food and short, efficient kettlebell workouts at home. In just 6 months, I dropped 40 lbs, and it changed my life. Over time, I shed another 20 lbs, gaining strength and muscle along the way.

But just when I thought I'd figured it out, life hit hard: a newborn during lockdown, a torn Achilles, appendicitis, and even kidney cancer.

Each of these could’ve been an excuse to quit. Instead, I leaned on the same kettlebell workouts to stay strong, fit, and push through life’s challenges.

If you're feeling stuck and fed up, I’ve been there. Let me help you get lean and strong without sacrificing your free time. Click the link in my bio to start your journey.

It's never too late. You've got this đŸ’Ș

He made himself a priority đŸ’Ș

Richard’s story proves what happens when fitness finally fits your life.

Before we started, he was tired, stressed, and frustrated that he couldn’t stay consistent.

In 16 weeks, he dropped 32 lbs. Not by overhauling his life, but by making small, consistent changes that worked around it.

Real progress doesn’t come from doing more.
It comes from doing what’s sustainable.

Drop some đŸ”„ below for Richard.
He's kicking ass.

And he's not done yet...

Comment "BELL" for the free guide.

Everything you need to pick the right weight, learn the swing, and start training in under 30 mins.

Most dads don’t need more exercises.
They need better ones.

Turkish Get Ups build real full-body strength and core control. Harder to learn, but worth it.

Halos open up tight shoulders and undo desk posture.

Lunges build strong legs and healthy knees.
Rows thicken your back and balance out all that pressing.

Cleans build powerful glutes, traps, and biceps.
They’re also the key to short, effective complexes.

Snatches are a full-body conditioning cheat code.
They’d rank even higher if they were easier to learn.

Carries build real dad strength. Pick up weight and move.

Squats build strong legs and restore hip range of motion. Use the potato sack version if you’re new.

The press forces the dad bod to change. Strong shoulders, triceps, upper chest.

And the swing. Explosive hinge. Powerful glutes. Fix tight hips from years of sitting.

Make it simple. Do it better. Do it forever.

Comfort has a Cost.

Theodore Roosevelt gave “The Strenuous Life” speech over 100 years ago and it hits home even harder today.

Seeking out strenuous moments deliberately hasn’t never been more valuable.

Don’t grind yourself too and pulp in the gym.

But doing hard things and pushing your limits builds the energy and capacity towards show up better for dad life.

Roosevelt’s whole speech is quote worthy, but this excerpt always hits home hard.

“It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed. In this life we get nothing save by effort. Freedom from effort in the present merely means that there has been stored up effort in the past.”

The 5-3-2 Method

If you only have 20 minutes, you can’t train to failure.

The rest times are just too long.

Training like this lets you get a lot of reps in a short amount of time.

And you can do it while dinner’s cooking and the kids are playing.

A doorway pull-up bar and ab wheel are musts for any busy dad, even if you go to the gym. This gives you an at-home option to stay consistent.

Steal my client’s 20 min workout 👇

Here’s the full workout @thejimmyjammies did.

Warm up:

2 mins of laying down and standing back up.

2 sets of 10 swings

Double KB complex:

Pick bells you can press 5 to 7 times overhead.

Each round:

1 double clean

1 double press

1 double front squat

Every 3rd round, add 3 chin-ups.

Rest until you can do another round without missing the press. Rest time between rounds can change depending on fatigue. Just don’t miss a press.

Do as many rounds as you can in 20 minutes.

Finish:

2 rounds of planks and suitcase carries

Day 30: The End

Setbacks don’t knock us off course.
They’re just part of the journey.

i’ve got a bit of a set back here

Pulled something in my hip. Haven’t been able to work out for a week.

Got it checked. It’s nothing serious, but I need to take at least another week off.

I’m still chasing my first 6-pack, and I’ll update with progress along the way.

But I’m ending these daily updates since I won’t have training to share for a bit.

Day 28: Stop chasing the burn

It took me a long time to realize that "the burn" and soreness aren't signs of progress.

That soreness just makes dad's life tougher.

Harder to chase the kids around.
Harder show up at work.

It's more likely to lead to burnout than results.

Getting stronger in movement patterns changes everything .
