Not bad for a first year.

The final chapter of my 2025–26 coaching journey wrapped up with an incredible weekend. From coaching Team Central at the @bballengland Aspire 3x3 All-Star Tournament on Saturday to stepping into coaching Hometown Heroes at the @hoopsfix Pro-Am, it was a fitting way to close out a memorable first year.

Looking back, this season has helped me grow not only as a coach, but as a person.

I moved into coaching because my body could no longer do what my mind wanted it to… although, if we’re being honest, it probably never really could!

Over the last year I’ve found something I’m genuinely passionate about. For years I was searching for what I wanted to do and who I wanted to become. Now, whenever someone asks me how coaching is going, my answer is always the same:

I only wish I’d started sooner.

The goal remains simple: be 1% better every day. As a coach, as a leader, and as a person. If I can help the players I work with—whether they’re young athletes or senior players—become better both on and off the court, then I know we’re moving in the right direction.

A few people deserve a special mention.

Wayne & Korrie thank you for trusting me with opportunities at Aspire and allowing the opportunity to continue to develop as a coach.

Emmanuel—thank you for bringing incredible energy to every Team Central camp. Your positivity is infectious.

Dan, Becky and Luke—thank you for making me feel so welcome during the East Midlands camps. I truly appreciate the support and environment you’ve created.

Finally, thank you to every player, coach, parent and colleague I’ve crossed paths with this year. Every conversation, challenge and experience has helped shape my journey.

Year one is complete.

NABL @nabl_official Tournament Recap – London 🇬🇧

Our U19 Men’s Development Team travelled to the University of East London on Friday and Saturday to compete in the NABL tournament and what a demanding and rewarding weekend it was.

Across just 24 hours, the squad played four high-intensity games, demonstrating resilience, discipline, and outstanding team spirit. Despite the physical demands of such a tight schedule, the team secured two wins and two losses, gaining invaluable competitive experience.

There were some outstanding individual performances, most notably @keegan.g17 , who was deservedly named Tournament MVP, and @calebvna , who delivered an exceptional 40-point performance in the final game of the weekend.

The players showed tremendous commitment and maturity throughout the tournament, pushing through fatigue and representing Moulton College with pride. Huge credit goes to Head Coach Will Reid @thattallguywill and Assistant Coach Alfie Price @_alfie_price_ for their leadership and preparation, and to our supporters who backed the team across the weekend from the stands or at home.

A special thank you also goes to @alwaysballinuk for providing our warm-up tops and another big thank you to @enriqueliraivanov for making sure everything went smoothly. Finally massive thank you to @scshootz who has been making all the incredible content for us that you have seen over the last couple of days.

An outstanding effort from everyone involved, the future of Moulton Basketball continues to look very bright. taken in UEL SportsDock by @coachwillreid

Still doesn’t quite feel real.

This summer I represented Great Britain at the @fimbamaxibasketball World Championships in Switzerland.

I first started playing basketball at the age of 22. I didn’t even know there was basketball in the UK. Not only did I get to the chance to represent my country but I got to do it with a life long friend in Leome (who doesn’t have IG 🙄)

It’s been an honour and a privilege to be apart of this special group of players, coaches, s&c and team staff. @gbmaxibasketball sets the bar high.

Firstly I want to thank @coachdonnie_one2one for selecting me. His faith in me to perform when needed, his ability to hold me accountable and his commitment to all of us this year has been first rate.

@emiliefairnington her incredible desire to be at her best and develop is something everyone should aspire to. The only person on the team I had a special handshake with. Her willingness to listen to me. (Not something many can do) was greatly appreciated.

@korrieriley pretty sure if she didnt tell us what to do we’d have been late to every meeting game and activity. Best team manager in the game!

RO TO THE LAND OF US @rolandas.mizgeris and @ortega.performance for being the best physio and s&c combo in the game.

To all my team mates. Thank you for making the tournament one of the best experiences of my life.

Special mention to @stefangill_ and @bigstagram13 who kept me up when I was down. 🤝

Lastly I want to thank @jsazant and @sadiem44 who have put together an amazing programme.

Roll on 2026 Greece and the euros!!! 🥇 pending……
