CO designed the East Building to support the @salkinstitute, which consistently ranks among the leading research institutions in the world. In 1995, as a part of architect Louis Kahn's master plan that defines the relationship between the existing and future campus buildings, the East Building created a new public face and entry to the campus while expanding the cutting-edge research and gathering spaces.

The Pearl Innovation District's Levine Center for Education is filled with inviting spaces for students to connect, unwind and study. This lounge area outside of one of the main learning studios is designed as a place to linger before or after class. Using furniture primarily sourced in North Carolina, the interiors are both modern and rooted in tradition, with pieces like high-back spindle chairs reminiscent of rocking chairs on a front porch.

Completed in 2012, the Health Sciences Education Building creates five stories of medical education and health sciences spaces for two universities – @uarizona and @nau. HSEB’s design set the standard for the area’s future buildings with its landmark architecture clad in a striking, striated copper facade inspired by Arizona's iconic slot canyons. The 245,000-SF building integrates nation-leading strategies in interdisciplinary teaching and training for team-based, immersive learning. The award-winning HSEB exemplifies CO's long-standing dedication to creating innovative spaces for medical and health sciences education.
