As a skating skills/ice dance coach, I’m very curious how skaters control their hips while riding edges. Some skaters break in their hips because they lack ankle and knee mobility…some skaters like to pop their hip out of their circle in an attempt to take a deeper edge.

Today, I got the opportunity to work with @elenawilsonice on improving her hip stability on her edges!

One of the joys of coaching for me is watching skaters start to develop flow across the ice and patience on their edges. It’s like a whole new world of movement and possibilities is opened up to them. They now can experience the freedom skating has to offer! 👏🎉

Skating is so much more fun with friends!

Send a DM to a skating friend and let them know how much he or she means to you! It will brighten his or her day!
