I went to bed feeling (mashup of emotions) thinking of the civilians caught in crossfire in Gaza and Sudan, thinking of my friend, falsely accused of spreading false info on our state… It’s very easy to lose hope, and sight of reality. It’s becoming harder to fight hopelessness.Buuut nani kama sisi - without hope it will be very hard to fight injustice. When @descendants.rec descended upon Nairobi this past Saturday 🤲🏾Thank you all for your love and support and for giving us your all at 7am in the morning ❤️Asanteni sana my people @j_nzi @badman.bantou Tyrese @nig.wav @andy_dj_ke @dj.shock.africa for special holding me that night ❤️This set was a collection of my favorite tracks over the years and a new fave - first time I heard Pin Pop (Homeboys Remake) by General C’mamane was on a set by @kj.karuga at Koda and it properly mashed up my brain so on behalf of the General and KJ we are sorry lol. Full set was recorded and should be on YouTube which is exciting. - This week at the Mist -We're running a limited programme this week as we take a short break to rest & recharge 🙂‍↕️----------------Thursday: It's a special Clearing session this week as travelling artist @malaikurd pays a visit to the hallowed ground <3@malaikurd is a Ghanaian-German-Cameroonian singer and creative born in Berlin and based in Accra. She is moved by music she describes as ‘feeling like a warm hug,’ having been influenced by soulful women artists such as Jill Scott, India Arie & Cleo Sol. Y’all Wagwaan na kwa watu wa 844 subalkheri.A piece that has nothing to do with music heh. I read somewhere that if you stick toothpicks through an avocado seed and dip the base into a jar of water, switch the water around every two weeks (ratio of half old water half freshwater) roots will form and you can plant the seed in soil and one day it will grow into a whole avocado tree.Now after months of growing nothing but mold and slime in these jars, tossing some out and convincing Maggie (the lady who comes in to help me clean) that i am not practicing witchcraft in the living room (yet) I was finally ready to accept that I’d failed here and throw this whole project out whennnnI found that one of the jars had sprouted these beautiful baby roots 🥹 EhhhhhhSijui kama ni uzee inanifanya nizidi kukuwa emotional hivi but wueh..(alama ya duku DUKU)Enjoy your Sunday and I hope you have all you need to power through your week. by @cocoem__

Hi fineHappy new week 🪷Here to share a bit about how this thing called my music career is currently shaping up hehe.First off, thank you for continuing to build with us over at @themist.ke - brick by brick, ticket by ticket, jaba by jaba, LED strip by LED strip, gwe* by gwe*, Asanteni!! We have a big week ahead and are excited to host our guests @moonshine.mu who are making a stop in Nairobi on their global tour - check out Mist link in bio for more details. Big thanks to our beloved team @badman.bantou @sikhupi @mashok_44 @dj.sunniehoney @ngatmaler + sound,bar,lighting,cleaning,security staff 🫶🏾With regards to my music, I am finally in the final stretch of finalizing my debut album (cAMonnn 🫠) An intense period to say the least but I’m learning quite a lot, lots of info to share in future workshops with y’all.The music I’m releasing has been harvested over time from deep corners of my heart so it’s all very, very exciting and very terrifying at the same time. I’m grateful for the support from @infinemusic and for everyone who’s been part of this journey so far!Though I will still be performing as a DJ, I am simultaneously planning an interesting pivot into the live music performance space (!) very different from the DJing space and a lot more demanding of my presence, and I am pleased to be represented by @mickyfaria as part of the Allofloride family. Honored to join my friends Guedra Guedra and Nesa, and some heavy hitters on the bookings roster. In the process of setting up global bookings channels and will have more specific info once that’s all set up.
