👋🏼 Hi there! It’s been a minute since a lil intro, and we’ve got some new faces here, so it seems a perfect time. • ✨ My name’s Heather, the one-woman show behind Cocoro Studios, born and raised in southern Louisiana! 🦞 • ✨ My metalsmithing journey began in Oregon in 2016. I had enrolled in a fundamentals of metalsmithing course during a challenging time in my life, in effort to invest in myself, process, and just to keep going and growing. Through creating metalwork by hand, I found new sense of empowerment and they were like little piece of armor as I rebuilt my life. I continued with lots of self-study and Cocoro Studios was born in 2018! 🪷 • ✨ I was an ESL Teacher for nearly a decade, and my students and learning from one another was seriously one of the best parts 🌎 💜 I’ve taken a step back for now, but still do some part time TA and tutoring. • ✨ I live for “the little things” in life:: sunsets, coffee, a sun beam, a cats purrr, plants, the sound of wind through trees, a candle flame, a perfect avocado, morning hugs, and on and on and on… • ✨Nature and animals have a special place in my heart 💜 🌲 ⛰ 🐱 🐕 🦥 🐘 I often consider leaving the city and living in the forest with the woodland creatures and my little family & turn more and more into a wizardly hobbit, so I’m sure it’s just an eventual reality… 🧙‍♀️ • ✨ I always make these too long 😆 , yet don’t know really what to say, and doubt many ppl read it all! If you did, I hope you learned something ab me & I’d love to learn something ab you! • ✨ What’s one of your favorite “little things”? Or where are you from? Or anything you’d like to share! 🌹 Thank you for being here, can’t do it without you! ❤️ • #meetthemaker #metalsmith #supportsmallbusiness #createyourlife #empowerment #womensherstorymonth #believeinyourself #keepgoing #keepgrowing #liveyourcocoro #cocorostudios #womanowned #womanmade #handmadejewelry #intentionaljewelry by @cocorostudios
✨A handful of signature Cocoro designs, MTO: made to order, especially for you! ✨Each a symbolic adornment of empowerment, a tangible reminder of your own beauty, resilience, & strength. • ✨I made this lil’ collage for a recent application I submitted, for a certain juried event I mustered up the courage to apply for (🤞🏼🙏🏼 ), and seeing them together like this had me feeling some kind of way… then i realized, the feeling is being proud of myself 🥹 • ✨These designs didn’t come all at once, nor did any of the progress I’ve had over the years. Rather, it’s all be little by little, ippo ippo, as it usually goes in life. Too often I have been my own worst critic- as I’m sure most of us can be- But when we can pause and take a moment to just appreciate where we’re at right now & how far we’ve already come, it’s a feeling of pride and gratitude and motivation to keep going. • ✨You are right where you need to be in this moment. Be proud of you. You have the power to choose your next step, the direction you’d like to go and grow. You are supported and empowered and a beautiful addition to this world.✨ • ✨May this jewelry add extra beauty and joy to your journey. • ✨Order your own Cocoro adornment in the l!nk , and tag someone below you think would love them too! Do you have a favorite?? 📣Guess who is now up in NOLA’s one and only LA GUILD gallery?! 🤗 I had the pleasure of visiting LA Guild @laguildcraftsnola @louisianacraftsguild & being invited to display some of my pieces in their beautiful shop. • The people are incredibly kind, the art is rich and diverse, and I am honored to be one of the artists among them! • Thank you LA Guild and all y’all who support your artists and makers- you have no idea what a difference it makes in my little world 🥹🙏🏼 • Drop me a word, have you been here yet? And please like, share, follow, and go visit this gem 🫶🏼 #nola #supportartists #intentionaljewelry by @cocorostudios
🍂 The remaining Fallen Leaves are now up in the shop. A limited release, each leaf unique and hand fabricated. • Inspired by the Fall season, its changes, beauty and symbolism of the falling leaves ~ representing change, impermanence, beauty, nature, cycles, the little things… • Fall is my favorite season, and I loved making these. I’m so glad y’all loved them too at the fest 🫶🏼 only a few remain, and I don’t know yet when or if I’ll make more! • Each leaf features either copper or brass on a 14K Goldfill chain. Which is your favorite? • #fallvibes #change #symbolicjewelry by @cocorostudios
❤️‍🔥MERCI LAFAYETTE! Wowie, what a weekend. This was my 3rd year at @festsacadiens and I’d say the best yet. Despite a surprise rain spell on Friday, it was a great time and turn out. Something about the music, food, art, and people make this event unlike any other! • I’m so grateful to have been a part of it, and for the @louisianacraftsguild and their hospitality, my left-hand man and his huge support, and all y’all that came out and showed some love 💖 • So many Cocoro pieces found their person, and I cannot tell you what a joy it is to see them fly off into the world. I’m trying to get better at remembering to take photos and muster up the courage to ask customers if I can snap a pic, so these are just 2 of the many beautiful souls that found their match 💎 🤗 • From the bottom of my dusty heart (iykyk), THANK YOU! • Swipe to see the before and after magic of booth set-up, and one of the surprise visitors we had 😍 • I’m doing a bit of “dusting off” and will be starting on your MTO orders soon. Love you Lafayette, till the next time… 🫶🏼😘🙏🏼 by @cocorostudios
🎬I was so honored to be a featured artist interviewed by @wheresalhebert with @yournews15 @katctv3 for @festsacadiens along w Hannah of @e.h.glazz.co ! • And a big thank you too @louisianacraftsguild for making it possible 🫶🏼 • It actually turned into a 2-for-1 and we ended up also being interviewed by another TV station, but I haven’t been able to find a link yet. 🙃 • All to say, I’m grateful AND I was pretty nervous. I thought of how having courage doesn’t mean an absence of fear- it means being scared and doing it anyway. I’m practicing courage ❤️‍🔥 and am glad I forged ahead! • Check out link to watch the full interview, and hope to see yall soooooon this weekend for Festivals Acadiens et Créoles 🪗✨💎 by @cocorostudios
🍂 Change, impermanence, nature, cycles, beauty, endings as way for survival to promote future growth… Fallen Leaves 🍂 The shift of the season brings a steady turn inwards, and Fall reflections. 🍂Lemme try a DUMP • so long SEPTEMBER, there were markets, making, and many moments ✨ revelations and everyday-tions~ tucking them in my pocket. The world is heavy and beautiful. Things are brewing. • A new season, a new leaf to turn, and candles to burn… What are we inviting in this October? I hope it involves more softness, justice, love, nature, metal, fire and cinnamon. 🖤 • • by @cocorostudios
😎Sending a big THANK YOU to those who came out and showed some love at Gulf Brew this weekend @downtownlafayette ! • As they say, the Y in Lafayette is YOU 💜 • Love my hometown- met some great new folks, enjoyed some brews and tacos, and spread more Cocoro out into the world. • Now time to recoup and get to work prepping for the next event… FESTIVAL ACADIENS,🪗 Anything in particular you’re hoping to see?? I may have some surprises in the works 😉 • • #intentionaljewelry #liveyourcocoro #handfabricatedjewelry by @cocorostudios
✨I can’t tell if this collage I made is cheesy or not, but I like it and enjoy playing with graphic design so am just going with it 😁 I have no team to bounce off my ideas (a blessing and a curse working alone), so I’d love to hear what you think. • I wanted to make a graphic to feature this piece and convey a feeling:: Featuring this beauty: the Raspberry Sheen Sapphire Shield 🛡️ Empower-Ring , with a glowing hexagon rose cut sapphire, hand push engraving detail, all hand fabricated. • Did you know Sapphire is September’s birthstone, and it comes in more than just blue. • With a Mohs scale of 9, she is tough (just below the strength of a diamond!). Designed to feel like a personal piece of armor, shield of strength, inviting heavenly blessings, good fortune, wisdom and protection. • She is up in the shop and will be with me at the upcoming Gulf Brew fest this weekend! Who’s coming? @downtownlafayette • • #intentionaljewelry #sapphirejewelry #cocorostudios by @cocorostudios
