Hi friends!

just here ✨checking in ✨

I’m currently losing my mind working through House of Leaves and feeling a coffee-shaped hole in my heart after finishing my yearly Gilmore Girls rewatch.

What are y’all reading and loving (or not)?
What are we watching?

Meet: ME ✨💋🦊🌙🥀❤️‍🔥

There are many new faces around here lately, so I’m reintroducing myself! Welcome to my weird and wonderful world of reading, ranting about canons, and indulging in my other countless hobbies.

I am an amalgam of every book of every read and every fictional character I’ve loved, so I may seem full of contradictions… but why be one thing when you can have range?

Do we have anything in common? Did we just become besties?

Ten Before the End ⏳

Will she read all ten come December 31st? Stay tuned to find out.

Realistically, I will get distracted by a different flashy book on my Kindle or side quest to another stack of unread physical copies. but pages will be read nonetheless!

Do we share any ten before the end books? any of these I should prioritize? by @coffeeandcanons

I don’t know how I feel about Buckeye. There was a lot I didn’t like about the characters and happenings, but the writing style was just my type.

What Kind of Paradise was on Libby hold for a while and I’m enjoying it so far. The opening premise feels like I’m reading The Great Alone again (*eye twitches and heart beats faster*).

I’m excited to finally read The Overstory as I’ve had it on my shelf for almost an entire year.

Bestie Guesses Book Titles! 🕵🏼‍♀️

I sent her some of my beloved books sans-title and made her guess off the cover alone.

She dedicates most of her reading time to research and educational material so I safely assumed she wouldn’t recognize these.

She did remember Cavalier and Clay from when we lived together so I’ll give her some credit where it’s due! Not sure which is my favorite but the meatball one is crazyyy… I’d read that book though. 😂

We were giggling all night over these and I can’t wait for round two! by @coffeeandcanons

Dolly forever 🦋🪽💖

Dolly Parton has been my biggest hero since I can remember. As a kid I was surrounded by her, fascinated by her, comforted by her. Always on our tv, blaring out of our stereo, in magazines. I grew up with Dolly and as an adult I’ve only adored and admired her more. She was a bold female role model for me that I never personally had.

She was so many things: musician, writer, actress, businesswoman, visionary, philanthropist, thinker, dreamer. A global icon, international star, household name. yet an incredibly humble, authentic, kindhearted human being. But the most important (to me) was that she was a reader. She is leaving behind a legacy like no other. Part of that legacy is around literacy.

Let’s keep Dolly’s dreams alive by reading, buying, and sharing books. Never stop. ☁️💕💫 by @coffeeandcanons

Book Recommendation 🌞🌚🌌🏘️

House of Day, House of Night by Olga Tokarczuk

Once again the book has chosen me and not the other way around. Like the universe has been screaming to simplify, reflect, take the scenic route, and remember that less can be so much more. This story spoke to me in a way that was surprisingly unexpected, yet entirely inevitable.

This constellation novel unfolds through fragmented anecdotes, memories, and dreams, guiding the reader through the lives of a remote Polish village. Tokarczuk leads us on an exploration of its history, folklore, myths, and the mundane. You’ll meet characters like a mysteriously wise neighbor, a religious group with unconventional beliefs, a woman who is haunted by the voice of an unknown lover, a man who believes he’s a werewolf and many more unique yet relatable players.

Olga writes with both starkness and warmth that nestle into one another as the lives of seemingly ordinary people are contrasted against those of more otherworldly beings. Her prose has a dreamlike quality that stretches the boundaries of reality while remaining deeply grounded in what it means to be human.

Every character is given attention and complexity while you find yourself collecting their voices and experiences rather than anticipating a climactic resolution. Each person becomes an essential thread in a larger tapestry, illuminating ideas of identity, belonging, and the search for meaning.

Here you’ll find storytelling that rewards patience, curiosity, and a willingness to embrace the unknown. With no definitive endpoint, the novel transports you across physical, generational, and emotional landscapes, reminding you that the smallest stories often reveal deeper truths. by @coffeeandcanons
