‘I am Life, Creator of Worlds’ highlights the impacts of ongoing extraction of Indigenous lands in New Mexico and the bodies of its original peoples. Through art, education, and community building, Three Sisters Collective works to advocate for the livelihood of their human and non-human relatives.

Stay tuned for the release of this short documentary coming later this spring and a local premiere in O’ga P’ogeh / Santa Fe. Special thanks to @dr_xtinamarie @pimikwusii @nayamarieav and the rest of the @threesisterscollective crew!

sneak peak of a project i’ve been working on with my brilliant friend @juniperroseartist - a diné + hochunk artist in her senior year at @instituteofamericanindianarts. here she shares a little bit about her inspiration!

on another note, i’ve loved working on so many collaborative projects this semester and have more to share soon (a short doc maybe?!). shoutout to the homie @fuzvision for the color grading on this piece! by @coho.keesh

In the waters off the remote island of Iluulux̂ or so called Unalaska, Alaska, toxic algal blooms are increasingly infecting filter feeding shellfish with unknown causation. After a community member died from eating blue mussels, a staple cultural food, Unangax̂ scientist Shayla began working with her tribe to research and understand the harmful blooms and what can hopefully be done about them. Illuminating the profound connection between the
Unangax̂ people and their environment, Usugilix Awakun showcases the resilience and resourcefulness of a culture in the face of unprecedented challenges.

Watch Usugilix Awakun or “We Are Working Together” via the link in our bio and appearing at select film festivals on the circuit this year!

We’re so thrilled to play a small role in supporting this critical work to protect culture, food, and ways of being. Huge thanks to Unangax̂ filmmaker and Story Producer Kanesia McGlashan-Price for all of your hard work and dedication to this project and to First Nations Development Institute for entrusting us with this collaboration! taken in Unalaska, Alaska by @coho.keesh

For thousands of years, the lands and waters of Iluulux̂ (Unalaska) have sustained life. But beneath the tundra lies a complex legacy impacted by World War II.

Here’s a first look at our upcoming mini-documentary series looking at Project Hope, a One Health research initiative by the Qawalangin Tribe, the City of Unalaska, and UAF.

Project Hope brings together local knowledge-bearers and researchers to find community-driven solutions to monitor Formerly Used Defense Sites (FUDS). By combining Traditional Ecological Knowledge with scientific research, this project helps local harvesters gather traditional foods with confidence.

Full series coming soon.

Shot in collaboration with Kanesia McGlashan-Price, Micah Fairchild, and Seed Media.

an ode to summer swims

there is a river
where clothes scatter
and bodies leap
from softened stone

wrinkled fingers rejoice
berries plucked
from branches, dripping

there is a river
where lovers commune
with moss
and speckled songbird

hold me
oh whirling waters!
