Introducing the Mixwave CA-286S — our second collaboration with Coil Audio.
This plugin brings a classic tribute to the iconic European two-stage amplifier tones of the 1950s and ’60s, excelling in high-fidelity applications with the rich, detailed midrange character of vintage EF86 tube-based preamps.

The single-channel CA-286S features a streamlined control layout and adds incredible hi-fi depth to any source. It pairs perfectly with the Mixwave Coil CA-70, both included in the Coil Audio Bundle.

Yesterday, Coil turned 10 years old. I snapped this #iphone4 pic of the basement “shop” as i impatiently waited for Jim to arrive from Texas with all the components and before i loaded in about a ton or 2 of metalwork. Two soldering stations and an assembly table - a blank slate before the chaos. We had been working and planning this for almost 3 years prior with hours and hours on the phone and a constant stream of revisions and plans. Listening/Testing rinse and repeat - it felt like it would never end, but then it did and here we were, trigger pulled, no turning back…. taken in Lawrence, Kansas by @coil_audio
