In a forest fire, while everything burns, the lodgepole pine is dropping thousands of seeds into soil that has just been cleared of competition, enriched with ash, and opened to full light for the first time. The catastrophe is the mechanism. This is not a comfort metaphor. It is a structural observation. Because here is what I have noticed. The clarity I could not find in comfort arrives in pressure.
