Stop seeking approval from the same world that crucified your Savior. #christianity by @colerjohnson22

You are chosen, free, valued, redeemed, created for a purpose, bought with a price, and loved unconditionally by the God of the universe. Where you see fallen, He sees forgiven. What you call broken, He declares beloved, and what you find worthless, He makes worthy.
This is who you are. by @colerjohnson22

Help me find peace in circumstances that don’t warrant it. Help me have joy in the midst of my present trials. Do not remove this battle, but make me into Your warrior. God, I pray not that You would change my circumstances, but that You would use my circumstances to change my heart. #christianity #jesusisking by @colerjohnson22

It is so easy to judge past generations, but we often fail to realize that we are no different from them. We still face the same struggles and fall into the same traps. There is nothing new under the sun, which, in case you were wondering, is the center of the universe.

I hope the apologetic arguments discussed this week have helped reveal the clarity and simplicity of a universe centered on the Son.

It is impossible for humans to view the world completely outside of their own perspective, which helps explain why we developed geocentric and atheistic models. But for those who are honestly and sincerely seeking truth, I encourage you: instead of trying to rationalize a world centered around yourself, step into the freedom and understanding that come from knowing it is centered on Christ. by @colerjohnson22

Stop believing the world’s lies that lasting satisfaction can be found in achievements. Look at the “gold medal syndrome” and the rates of suicide and drug use among celebrities.

There is no better recipe for depression than finally attaining the very thing you believed would fulfill you, only to realize it doesn’t.

Run to Jesus and find the satisfaction your heart was designed to crave. by @colerjohnson22

If you ever doubt God’s existence, consider the fact that you possess the cognitive faculties required to doubt.

The very ability to doubt God’s existence may be one of the clearest signs that He exists. by @colerjohnson22

This week, I will be discussing apologetics. If you are willing to follow the evidence wherever it leads, you will find what you have spent your life searching for. by @colerjohnson22

How do you describe color to a world that has only ever seen gray? To them, gray is everything, every shade, every beauty, every possibility. Speak of color, and it sounds like madness. How do you convince them that there is so much more out there for them? This is a question I wrestle with daily, because the truth is, we live in that world.

When we are children, we have big, audacious dreams that we believe will provide lasting satisfaction. At some point, we are convinced to settle for something more realistic, letting go of those dreams and losing hope that we will ever find true fulfillment. Or worse, we pursue those dreams and actually achieve them, only to find they don’t provide what we anticipated. Either way, we are left settling, believing that the momentary satisfaction found in empty, earthly desires is all there is. In other words, we settle for different shades of gray.

Two thousand years ago, a man named Jesus faced the same challenge I posed to you above. He entered a world full of people who were spiritually colorblind, with the goal of helping them truly see all that life has to offer. He proposed a way to lasting satisfaction centered on surrender and relationship with Him. He spoke of power in weakness, strength in servitude, and freedom in surrender, ideas that seem completely insane, until you truly see.

I wish there were some magic words I could say that would help the whole world see what has become clear to me through Jesus. But there aren’t. And I am certain I could never fully explain the beauty of His splendor or the freedom I have found in Him through wholehearted surrender.

I can’t fully comprehend this thing that I’ve found true, But I can say with certainty that Jesus longs for you. And whether you realize it or not, your heart longs for Him too. by @colerjohnson22

Science is incredible. We have become so advanced that we are not only able to observe events and gain understanding of processes, but also to observe effects and gain insight into their causes. One example of this is the Big Bang. Science is right about the Big Bang, and I wholeheartedly believe that if we were somehow able to observe the origin of the universe, we would describe it in nearly identical terms.

There was nothing, and then a “bang,” followed by a burst of light, and so on. What is interesting about this theory, as well as many discoveries we are just now making with modern technology, is that similar ideas were written about two thousand years ago, long before we even knew what a cell was.

What we currently describe, and rightly so, as the Big Bang is more accurately described as a thundering voice. And from this “voice” came light, matter, energy, space, and time.

The Big Bang theory is an impressively accurate description of an event that occurred before the existence of time itself, but it is also incredibly incomplete, and no honest scientist would claim otherwise. And unfortunately it will remain incomplete until we are able to recognize the “bang” for what it truly is: the thundering voice of the Almighty God. Through this lens, broken theories become beautiful stories, displaying the power and love of the living God. by @colerjohnson22
