there is this constant thought I have about my son, and it is this:

“when will his memory come online?”

it’s hard to not hope it isn’t during a time we are puddle jumping, riding bikes, or laughing our heads off together; or in this exact moment you’re watching now.

thankful my mom got to witness this memory making moment.

this is all life is - I am learning - one big memory making session. taken in Yukon by @colinclose

this truck makes me feel so connected to my dad.

when i was a little boy he had an old baby blue rusty ford truck that so much of my early childhood memory is wrapped up in.

every time i start this truck,
i think of him.
every time i look over at my little boy,
i think of him.
every time i notice the key in my pocket,
i think of him.

it makes me hopeful for my own son, that one day - hopefully a long, long time from last friday - he will hold these memories of us, and of his childhood, and find ways to connect to those moments in ways that will fill his heart & soul so full of joy that it cannot be contained. taken in Yukon by @colinclose
